After learning that Kakarot survived the destruction of Namek, Vegeta travels to the stars in search of a Super Saiyan. His journey takes him beyond the reaches of Frieza's empire, into the domain of another galactic empire. He arrives just in time to witness a turning point in the empire's history, when Darth Vader pursues the rebels that have stolen the plans to the Death Star.
