I'm an australian author. I've written an ebook called AVENGING ANGEL which is available online. It's a story about a girl who was brought up as a child soldier, who is now searching the USA for her father (a man she has never met). Here's a review:-
SYNOPSIS OF AVENGING ANGEL
Contemporary fiction with tough female lead.
The story tells of a young girl, Angie, born into the fictitious country of East Kurmia, and begins in the darkest remote regions of the South American continent. Angie is no ordinary child, being the offspring of an evil sadistic warlord, Colonel Morgan.
Angie is brought up amongst her father’s mercenary band of soldiers, influenced by the conflicting goodness of her mother, an American teacher, and the merciless cruelty of the man she believes to be her father, the psychopathic Colonel Morgan. Angie's mother is the sole survivor of an air crash eleven years before in the jungles of East Kurmia. Taking part, from an early age, in attacks on rebel bases opposed to Morgan’s support of the current regime, Angie is indoctrinated into the harsh lessons of war, brutal massacres, torture and desecration of all life.
Until one day, as her mother lies on her deathbed succumbing to malaria, Angie learns the truth of her birth. That her mother having already being pregnant the fateful day of the plane crash, had thrown herself at the mercy of Colonel Morgan as the other surviving passengers around her were brutally murdered by his band of mercenaries. Morgan, taking an instant shine to the blonde American beauty, readily agreed to take her as his wife, and ignorant of her pregnant condition firmly believed that when Angie was born, she indeed was his own issue. Angie, unable to come to terms with this shattering news, is dealt another hammer blow when her mother dies before revealing the true identity of her father, only managing to tell Angie that her real father lived somewhere in the United States.
Angie soon hatches a plan to escape from Morgan, and find her real father. When she is captured, Morgan who now realises that his wife had duped him all the prevailing years over Angie’s true identity, takes horrific revenge having Angie brutally tortured.
Help is at hand, when Angie is rescued by a secret sect of monks from an ancient secret and wealthy monastery within an uncharted mountain range of East Kurmia. Recovering from her ordeal at the hands of Morgan’s torturers, Angie leaves the monastery and makes her way to the United States. Her only lead to the true identity of her father is the flight number of the doomed aircraft that her mother had been on.
Landing in Mexico, Angie soon makes her way across the border and her epic search for her true father begins. Along the way she encounters the forces of good and evil on opposite sides of the law, and the story meanders across the United States and Australia. During all of this she is relentlessly pursued by Morgan who is bent on extracting from Angie, not only the location of the monastery, so he can steal the gold, but also revenge.
