The plans of the Sith are in motion and she has no idea of why Anakin fell; she cannot save the galaxy, but she can at least try to save him.

[Book 3] Truly alone for the first time since entering the Avatar world, Dakota struggles to heal—both physically and mentally. Knowing that the Avatar and his friends win the war is all well and good, but Dakota doesn't yet know the sequence of events that help them reach that conclusion. After the failure with Stoneheart, Marinette had successfully given up the earrings and thought that was that. That she was done with the hero business. Done with anything miraculous. She was wrong. And her actions sparked off a great change of events.

Leia Organa finds herself stuck in a strange alternate universe where the Empire never rose. Meanwhile, trying to navigate a galaxy ruled by the Sith weren't exactly the Jedi Trials Leia Skywalker had expected.
