After the drama of Bombshell and Hit List, Derek decides to leave Broadway and return home. Living in London he falls in love with American actress, Karen Cartwright. They get married, have children and after six years abroad decide to return to the States. This is simply life as Mr. and Mrs. Wills. The only Smash characters are those from Derek's past; Ivy Tom Julia and Eileen.

Karen is young, and slightly wild, living in New York city trying to make it as an actress. She is struggling in her career, making a mess of her relationships and trying desperately to free herself from a past that she just can't seem to shake. Throw in Derek Wills, a highly coverted, rather obnoxious, director seeking a project to boost his career and get him out of a rut. OOC

Derek is working with Karen again after he moved to England with Ivy and their child three years ago without so much as a goodbye. Now he's back will Karen forgive him? Can Ivy deal with them working together again? Will unresolved feelings resurface? You know what they say, whatever happens, the show must go on.
