Poll: What should I write next? You can make more than one choice. (Posted 21 February 2015) Vote Now! |
![]() Author has written 15 stories for Pokémon. About Me: I am a fanfic writer and a beta reader, and I've been active on this site for six years. Occasionally, I go on reviewing sprees, looking at stories with an eye for constructive criticism. Why CarpeDiemEveryday? Originally I wanted just plain old CarpeDiem because I'm a fan of making each moment count. Unfortunately, I was rather late to the game and the name was already taken. I considered tacking a string of numbers on the end, but instead opted for CarpeDiemEveryday, because you should seize the day every day, making it an everyday occurrence. Requesting reviews: I've gotten a couple requests for reviews lately. I try to honor these, but sometimes I forget, so let me know if I said I would but didn't. Also, and this is important, I am honest. I don't sugarcoat. Please understand what you are asking for if you do. Not dead yet: As time goes by and real-life commitments increase, I find myself writing less and less fic and going on sporadic reviewing sprees instead. This doesn't mean that I'm gone per se, but writing is difficult sometimes, both because of commitments and some truly hideous cases of writer's block. If you like an ongoing fic, my advice would be to put it on story alert, just because updates aren't on a steady schedule. About My Fanfics: The following is a list of all my fanfics to date, in chronological last-post order. You'll notice there are mostly one-shots; this is because sometimes the only way for me to kick-start writing on a chaptered fic is to clean out all the plot-bunny clutter. Failure: First story I ever submitted, describing a Feebas's life. It's a tearjerker I guess? You can actually find it now if you search for the character "Feebas", so if you're interested please take pity and read it. I've heard it causes transformations or somesuch. A Visit to Washington, DC: Ash and Misty tour America's Capitol Building. Hijinks ensue. Runs entirely on silliness, so your mileage will of course vary. White and Nerdy: Oneshot written by me when I started not-hating Brendan in the middle of writing TMWCBM, so yeah, it's HoennShipping. Extremely silly, featuring flanderization of character interactions and how romance oneshots play out, so your mileage may vary. Note: not a songfic. Late: Er... I don't really like to talk about this one. It was a collaborative effort with a former user, but it really just didn't work out right, and so there are only three chapters. It is my only permanently unfinished story, but, if you are interested, contact me through the PM system with your ideas and I might just let you adopt it. It would be nice for there to be some closure, at any rate. The _ Birthday Ever: This story is both my first oneshot and my first attempt at PokeShipping. FFN doesn't like underscores, so the title doesn't make much sense until you get into the actual story. Planning Pays Off: My first oneshot directly involving Team Rocket. Jessie has a plan, a reeeeally, legitimately good plan. It's going to be epic. And they might just... well, I'll just let you read. And, no, this is not RocketShippy. Didn't fit the scope of the thing. I will try and write one at some point, though. Maybe. I don't want to write James off as gay or straight necessarily just yet. We'll see. Again, this is sort of a not-often-encountered story, so give it a shot. The Man Who Can't Be Moved: My longest fanfic, spanning eighteen chapters. It's sort of like a songfic, but rather than have lyrics pasted in, I built up a story based around the titular song by The Script. It chronicles Drew's attempt to prove he actually cares about May, even as the boy-next-door is busy winning her over. For those of you who didn't like the ending, may I direct you to Breakeven? Lunar Eclipse: My first fanfic in the Pokemon Special manga, featuring Ruby and Sapphire. So they're having an argument about what happens at a lunar eclipse, and then Sapphire suggests a bet. What will happen? Hm, maybe FranticShipping... or maybe Ruby'll fall off a roof... yeah, one (or both) of the two. You'll just read to see. This one is my favorite, as far as stories about canon characters go, so I'm so happy it's received all the love it has! Daddies Don't Cry: A oneshot in which Gary Oak visits his ailing grandfather. Told from the perspective of his young son, who doesn't quite grasp what is happening. Yeah, it's another sad one, mixed with experimental writing. Breakeven: A oneshot in which some much-needed closure is provided for Brendan. And, yes, it is a sequel to The Man Who Can't Be Moved, so yay spoilers! Yay sequel! Yay closure! Yay Christmas any time of the year!! Note: not a songfic. Indy: After reading about original trainer fanfic, I have decided to take a stab at it myself. This is an ongoing story. Spook: A oneshot about autumn, evolution, and finding your place in the world, as seen through the eyes of a shuppet. Charm: I'm taking another swing at writing about May and Drew. This'll be an ongoing story as well. Mama Mightyena: The beginning of what may evolve into a collection of manga-based drabbles. As it presently stands, a fluff of Franticshipping. So... now what? Um, well, read some fanfics, I suppose. Remember to seize the day! |
