Affections Across Time, co-authored by Abstract Illusioniste

The original was by Abstract Illusioniste, but after a very long and unbearable hiatus, the best time travel fic in the anime fandom is back and ready for action. I will be the co-author, but to avoid confusion, it will stay on Abstract's account. Don't hesitate to read - it will only get better. I co-author from the fifth chapter , and the fifth chapter should be up no later than about October 17th, at the LATEST, I hope. Either way, it'll be soon!

The Mary Sue or Gary Stu Hall of Shame

Every time a Mary Sue OR Gary Stu appears, I WILL copy it, and paste it to my profile for the whole world to see. That way,

readers will know which OCs are worth their time and which aren't. Then I'll create polls so people can vote on which is the

worst Mary Sue, or the Best, depending on how you look at it. Hopefully, this list will become popular enough that people will stop

making Mary Sues and Gary Stus so that they won't end up on the last. This especially applies to the popular "YUMI" category.

It is the single most popular name for Mary Sues. Sometimes they are ok, most times they aren't. It usually comes down to falling in love

with Sasuke, Toshiro, Draco, Naruto, Itachi, bla bla bla... hopefully the Mary Sues will disintegrate. I update the list daily!

#1. Yumi from "Yumi's Beginning and End" by XtheonlyoneX

Description:

Is Orochimaru's younger sister. Gets placed on a team with Sasuke and Naruto. Uh-huh, right. And Sakura is what, the tooth fairy?

#2. Riley Yukari Hikaru "Rei" from "Broken Blades" by xXPrincess-Of-RaNdOmNeSsXx

Description:

Rei is the perfect model of a Mary Sue. Her appearance is uglier than Karin from Naruto, IF that is even possible. Do not spend your time reading anything by this author. It is a waste of your life, and life is too short.

#3. Kina from "She's Everybody's Fool" by ms .hinamori uchiha.

Description:

Somehow she surpasses the legendary sannin Lady Tsunade by being "the most powerful hybrid kunoichi ever", and can take out the whole village with SasuOC mixed in? hina-chan, as she wants everyone to call her, is the so called twin sister of Neji Hyuuga and wife to Uchiha Itachi. BEWARE!

#4. Kaiya from "Haunted" by xOProcrastinator

Description:

Kaiya isn't the worst OC out there, and she probably wouldn't have been put into the Hall of Shame if it were a different situation in the story. Nevertheless, she is too emotional and could use a large touch up.

#5. Chidori from "Cat's Eye" by Suna no Yoru

Description:

This is a one-shot about a girl who has cat-like features, and of course, a SasuOC. Very, very typical. Do not read if you value your time.

#6. Keyore and Neko Nacare from "Neko Akuma" by Chained Chi Yajuu on NarutoFic. Do not read it here at

Description:

This is very typical. A demon clan? But, read it if you want to. On the other hand, I wouldn't.

#7. Yaruki from "Two Monsters" by Ked Rui

Description:

This is a NaruOC oneshot, so far at least, with probably a 0 chance of being updated. What's even worse is that you, the reader, are Yaruki in the story, so YOU are turned into a Mary Sue.

#8. Konoha Uzumaki from "Life with a Price" by Kaori-Kiada

Description:

Naruto's older sister, raised by Orochimaru. You can barely even tell what's going on because of the bad grammar.

The "Canon" OC Hall of Fame

This is the exact counter to the Mary Sue/Gary Stu Hall of Shame. These are the best OCs from the best OC centric stories you'll ever find.

Unfortunately, they are very hard to find compared to the long list of Mary Sues and Gary Stus.

#1. Ami from "Not So Weak Anymore" by shellzonfire

Description:

Ami plays one of the main characters very well and isn't annoying, like most OCs tend to be. The sequel to "Not So Weak Anymore" is now up by shellzonfire!

#2. Fiammetta Hatsumi/ Alias: Akemi Fujino from "Fire and Ice" by KazeNoSakura (my beta:)

Fiammetta is unique in the fact that she is actually a reader insert, or the reader role plays Fiammetta in the story. You are her, but she can also be loosely interpreted as an OC. She always keeps you guessing!

#3. Yuina from "Flawless Masks" by Abstract Illusioniste

Yuina differs from most of the other characters in the storyline because as a reader I found that I could relate to her, not being a model or a super famous movie star (Yet!). She is also portrayed differently than most supporting characters in high school fanfiction, but "Flawless Masks" is hardly a high school fic. It is much more extravagant, and much more enjoyable. I, personally, thought it was better than published works of the same genre nature such as "Gossip Girl" by Cecily Von Ziegsar.

#4. Miyuki Higurashi from "The Philosopher's Stone" by Jibun no Omoi

Description:

Miyuki comes from a tragical background, which is normally something that is interpreted as a Mary Sue, but she particularly is distinguished aside from a Mary Sue because her tragical background was caused by people who wanted her for her power - a power that sets up the whole story. To prove it, "The Philosopher's Stone" currently has 400+ reviews. I highly reccomend this to anyone who is looking for an interesting, unique, and long HitsuOC story. It also has a good ammount of humor to balance out the angst, something that isn't a factor in most angst stories.

#5. Keiko Nuyaka from "Winter Solstace" by Raskolnikov34

Description:

Another Toshiro x OC! I love her fun attitude. It makes her very unique, but in a realistic way.

Description:

An IchiReader fic. It's a one-shot, and you go by the name Amelia. One of the best reader's POV stories on this site.

#8. Hitari Rozu from "White Roses" by -lazy llama-

Description:

One of the best Toshiro x OC stories out there. Hitari is the new Captain, and the soft moments start when she has a mission with Hitsugaya.
