Greetings all of you lovers of Fan Fiction!

My name is Brian, and I'm a mid-20's lover of all things based in Fantasy and Sci-Fi, books, games, movies, you name it!

I really love the Harry Potter books and even the movies, and love Fan Fiction on this site even more! So many talented people out there! I was subjected to this intriguing site by a co-worker of mine, whom will probably laugh at reading this, and fell in love with it. Ironically, the story she was reading was with a pairing I will never follow, but it was the fact that there were people out there writing stories in the way they wanted, that were strikingly similar to what I was hoping to happen in the books! I was blind at first, succumbing to my naivete of the original canon pairings. I admitted my folly, and rectified it! I have to say, though, I still enjoy a good Harry/Ginny story, depending upon how the story flows, and how Ginny is developed. As for the long run, it will be Harry and Hermione for me, through and through. Let's face it, JK Rowling is not the best when it comes to Romance! To be fair, there are others I can see with him, and maybe I can be fair and show you, and explain why:

Harry/Hermione: Like I need to say anything. In the books, and in the movies, Hermione was by his side, and not mention that there was more romance between Harry and Hermione, than any other character- which could be JK Rowling's lack of true romantic insight- she was wonderful in creating complex characters, in depth plot, and fantastic atmosphere... but romance? All I need to say is Ron and Hermione, Epilogue... Yeah. *shudder*

Harry/Ginny: As stated, I may not agree with the end result that JK threw at us, but many of the fine authors on this site convinced me, now that I've come to terms that is, that Ginny can be Harry's choice, depending upon how she's developed in the story, and how it comes together in the plot. You will see this more than once, but the idea of Soul Bonding, is a very good convincing plot hook for me! Something about it just fits. As for Ginny's personality, if it were to work with Harry, she has to be fiery, passionate, but not that silly fan girl we were introduced to, and most certainly not the go-date-several-guys type of girl... not that convincing.

Harry/Luna: Ah... such a sweet, sweet pairing- of course it all depends on the character development, not to mention how they get together- but I can definitely see the two... Protuberant blue eyes staring into the brilliant emerald depths... I can see it. Luna is carefree, sees Harry for who he is, followed him loyally, and trusts him unconditionally... Who couldn't love that?

Harry/Fleur: Gorgeous French Veela, haughty attitude, but realizes that Harry is not a little boy, but a man hardened after years of trials and tribulations, falling in love with his selfless attitude, bravery, and overall compassion and willingness to support those he loves. Who cares about age, I've read plenty of stories out there that have convinced me that it's possible between the two (chris400ad with Triwizard Champions, TheEndless7 with Letters, and my personal all-time favorite DriftWood1965's Harry Potter and the Price of Being Noble- even though it's not only Fleur with Harry, the idea started with her, and the way she realizes her feelings, was just fantastic!) Soul/Veela Bonding, yes please!

Harry/Gabrielle: In canon, she's only 8ish, but many authors on here who believe she and Harry have a chance, have, yet again, convinced me it's possible to overlook that, by throwing in some concepts to overrule that- i.e., Veela mature slower, and Gabby could really be 12-13, and blossoms immediately, or the veela bond that matures Gabby when she binds herself to Harry. It can be convoluted, but it's up to the author to put it all together appropriately. Again, soul bonding!

Harry/Tonks: Carefree, energetic, acceptance of Harry for being Just Harry, and overall warm attitude... Tonks has captured a lot of our hearts, and tears were shed when she was listed as one of the fallen; another black mark I say! She should've lived! And possibly had a chance for romance with our lovable Emerald-eyed hero... and, again, who cares for age! Many of you can agree, after reading some stellar stories with the two, that it is all possible- because as she accepts Harry for who he is, he can turn around and ask of her to be herself, which we all know, she longs for someone to just love and accept her as herself.

Harry/Daphne: Sure there isn't much written about the labeled Ice Queen of Slytherin, but many intriguing stories out there have really made me fall in love with this pairing. Ice cold exterior, only broken by the Golden Boy, to reveal her true self, the warm fuzzy interior. My only objection to some of the depictions of Daphne are her looks- I can see her with either Black or Blond hair, but she definitely needs those piercing blue eyes- fits well with that icy persona. My favorite author of Harry/Daphne is munkeymaniac. Read some of his stuff, it's great! (Yeah, he doesn't use the blue eyes, but whatever, if I can look past that, it must be good, right? Yes!)

Harry/Susan: Another unknown character that seems to have caught many an author's eye for a good story. The shy, shapely, sure-fire 'Puff (fun with alliteration!) caught my attention in a few stories, namely from authors jbern and joemjackson, and for some reason, I really like her. Same with Daphne, though, she definitely needs certain physical features- no, not her bust, although it'd be nice to think about, but no, it's her hair color- I really think she'd be the true redhead for Harry, for the reason that I can see her falling for Harry, not the Boy-Who-Lived. As for eye color, I'm kinda partial to blue or grey. The hair is what is important... don't know why...

Harry/Multi/Harem: As for Harem, this particular type of story was not one I really wanted to follow, mostly for the fact that I do not enjoy page after page of lemony smutty garble. I admit, that there is a certain feel for some good scenes that can literally spell out what is going on between two people being intimate, but I don't see that as a reason to write a story. However, I have read two stories so far, that have a lot of gratuitous sex scenes, that actually have a really intriguing plot- GinnyMyLove's Searching For The Power- a real tear jerker at one point, and SSJ04 Mewtwo's Harem of the Ancient House of Potter. I admit, I skimmed over many of the intimate scenes, I'm no prude, but I kinda get the point after a while.

Multiple pairings are kind of a fun favorite, because Harry deserves a lot of love, and he has a lot of love to give- so why not equally share with a few witches that can prove to him that love exists, showing him what it is to be loved and showing him that he deserves it? Hermione is a must, though, she's the glue to it all! A few stories come to mind when I think of this: I already stated one, DriftWood1965's Harry Potter and the Price of Being Noble, as well as kb0's The Accidental Bond, and robst's Fate's Gambit series. Read them- the first two are not done, and hopefully won't be for a while, but check out robst's two stories there, fantastic I tell you!

Harry/OC: I recently fell in love with this. I've read a few convincing stories out there, and I must say, even though there are a few with your typical Mary Sue character, there are many more with intriguing, believable original characters that make me want Harry to fall in love with them!

Overall, I really love a story with in-depth romance, and yes, fluffy goodness- brings a warm feeling inside. I'm a romantic at heart, hopelessly so, and I enjoy how an author can show the true romance one feels with his/her true love.

One of these days, I will write a story, most likely an easy one to get my creative juices flowing, a Harry and Hermione romance, and definitely going to be an early coming together, none of this years later nonsense!
