![]() Author has written 4 stories for Land Before Time, Alpha and Omega, and Angel Beats!/エンジェルビーツ. Hi there! Welcome to my profile page. I'm currently working on Angel Beats: Twenty-One Guns and the Land Before Time: the March of Man. Please let me know if you want to submit an OC. Please see the rules in this forum for details: Creating Your OC I know that I can be rather loquacious and garrulous at times, and I'm aware that reading this must have been a Kafkaesque experience for you guys. So I thank thee deeply from the bottom of my heart, milord! Thy trusty liege is grateful for your charity and generosity with your time. Friends, applaud! The comedy is finished. Published OCs: (1) Clara R. Caldwell Can be found in: Strike Witches: Southeast Asia Theater by PPsyrius Name: Clara Rachael "Battlecruiser/Killer" Caldwell Age: 17 Nationality: Australi Rank: RAF Squadron Leader (Equivalent of an USAAF and Luftwaffe Major) Original Unit: No. 1 Squadron RAAF (Royal Australis Air Force) Gender: Female Familiar: Eastern grey kangaroo Striker: De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito Mk XVIII (Tsetse) Weapons: Primary Weapon: Molins gun (modified Ordnance QF 6-pounder 57mm gun) with 21 rounds Or 2 x Hispano Mk. II 20mm autocannon for lighter enemies Secondary Weapon: Enfield No. 2 Revolver Special Weapons: 6 x RP-3 "60 lb" rockets Magic: The Flying Battlecruiser Clara's special magical ability allows her to dramatically increase her maximum takeoff weight and engine power, making it possible for her to use very heavy weapons and fly at very high speeds. While most witches cannot carry more than a thousand pounds of equipment, Clara is capable of carrying more than four thousand pounds. As such, she is one of the few witches who can carry the 57mm Molins gun into combat. She can also carry two 20mm cannons (which she dual-wields) and six rockets in addition her 1600-pound cannon. (Recall the Me-262 episode in which Barkhorn flies with the 50mm cannon. Now give the witch a backpack with two 20mm cannons and six rockets). Her devastating firepower and speed has earned her the nickname the "The Flying Battlecruiser". Appearance: Clara is a 17-year-old country girl with a tall and athletic physique. She has waist-length blond hair and large blue eyes. She also appears to have a constant smile on her face, even when she is under extreme stress. She believes that a smile will exert a positive influence on those around her. The only problem is that Clara, even when nervous or angry, tries to keep this facial expression (and fails miserably). Her close friends call these scary smiles "Cheshire grins", because they portend that something bad is going to happen. This, ironically, makes Clara very scary to anger. Her familiar is the eastern grey kangaroo. When she activates her magic, she grows a pair of large kangaroo ears and a long tail. She uses her tail to help her maneuver in combat. She is mostly seen wearing a standard Royal Australisian Air Force Uniform, even when not on duty. She also wears two red hair ribbons on both sides of her head. Biography: (Clara is loosely based on Clive Caldwell, the leading Australian air ace of World War II. Clive, however, never flew the Mosquito.) Clara grew up on a farm in Tasmania. She was the second oldest of five children; one of her younger sisters is also a witch and is fighting in Europe. Her childhood chores often involved moving heavy equipment, which, over time, allowed to develop her physical strength and endurance. Her frequent rivalries with siblings also gave her a competitive streak. She tries to hide this under a polite and modest demeanor, but she is helpless to change the fact that she is still a competitive child at heart. She occasionally gets into boasting contests with Masa over trivial matters, but the two remain good friends. Partly due to her competitive nature, Clara has a fascination with speed and power. Her choice of weaponry reflects this aspect of her personality. The Mosquito is renowned for its combination of speed and firepower, and she is the only witch to use the 57mm Molins gun in battle. Her competitive nature also manifests in the form of aggression (and occasionally recklessness) in battle. Much like Clive, she almost never returns to base with any ammunition left. As a witch, Clara has outstanding strength and speed. She prefers the "zoom and boom" style of fighting, which allows her to make the most of her firepower and speed. She also prefers to fight at long range, as her agility and shield power are below average. In combat, she often pairs up with Mai and Katheryn. Clara relies on Mai to locate the target. Katheryn can then harass and distract the enemy with teleportation while Clara sets up her devastating attack runs. However, Clara's magic and heavy weaponry still take a toll on her endurance in battle. She lacks the staying power of other witches and takes a long time to recover her energy. As such, she cannot sortie as often as her subordinates and can be readily overwhelmed by multiple waves of enemies Clara is similarly unorthodox when it comes to squadron management. She takes her paperwork very seriously, keeping the squadron well-supplied and moralized. She is usually friendly and kind towards her subordinates, reaching out to those who need special assistance. (She has tried to befriend Egle on many occasions, but to little avail.) She believes that the most effective fighting force is a happy and unified fighting force. As such, she is very concerned about maintaining morale and tries persistently to generate camaraderie through smiles and laughter. Fortunately, she is gifted with a wry sense of humor. She likes to make jokes about her own life and satirize the lives of members of the squadron and her superiors, much to their chagrin. Much like her ace archetype, Clara is not on good terms with her superiors. She gets very upset when the squadron is assigned fly missions that she deem strategically useless and acts in a very passive-aggressive manner when forced to fly such missions. Clara's relations with Luce and Egle are strained for the same reason. Clara dislikes the persistent aggression and "difficult" personalities of the two, but she refuses to reassign them to other squadrons due to their proven combat aptitude. Clara also refuses to obey "unnecessary" orders and is known to be involved in a regional alcohol racket in which liquor would be flown in by aircraft and witches from Australis and sold to locals, Chindits, and other witches. In real life, Clive was caught and demoted to a Flight Lieutenant. Whether or not something similar will happen to Clara will be for PPSyrius to decide. Clara devotes most of her energy and time to her work, but that does not prevent her from appreciating the finer things in life. She enjoys drinking tea, reading classical literature, music, and gardening. She is the proud owner of Arthur, a three-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, who serves as the unofficial squadron mascot. She also really likes to travel and would leave the base whenever she is given the chance. Her dream was to become a jazz saxophonist and travel the world. She occasionally performs on the radio and is treated as an idol in her hometown. However, despite her fame and accomplishments, Clara only speaks modestly of her contributions. She instead uses her fame and position to ensure that her subordinates can enjoy relatively peaceful and happy lives. |
