![]() Author has written 5 stories for Soul Eater, Wolf's Rain, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. You walk into what you thought was an empty classroom after school, only to find that it is indeed occupied, but only by a single girl. She's fairly average in apperance, long brown hair pulled back into a ponytail, as if she cares more about having it out of the way than how it looks. She's wearing a plain t-shirt and jeans, the heel of her tennis shoes tapping rappidly against the ground as her knee bounces up and down. Absorbed in whatever she is typing, she doesn't seem to have noticed you, but as you attempt to slowly back out of the room, her voice calls out. "You're about to knock over a priceless vase," she says, causing you to turn and see... Nothing? "Jeez, you seriously believed that? How stupid are you? This isn't the Ouran Highschool Host Club," she sighs as she leans back in her chair, arms behind her head, still staring at the computer screen. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt anyone," you say, starting to back out of the room again. Whoever this chick is, there seems to be something, off, about her. "Actually, your timing couldn't be better," she says, pushing a chair at you with her foot. "Sit, I need someone to give me their opinion on this." Her tone leaves no room to argue, so you sit, not really seeing another choice. Once you are seated, she clears her throat and begins to read. "A trail of bloody footprints in the fast-falling snow was the only indication that someone had been there. If you were to follow the trail to it’s head, you would find a young girl, who could be no more than nine, numbly walking through the snow, gray eyes empty, short brown hair interrupted by twin streaks of white framing her face, and providing some protection from the harsh winter winds. "She would have stopped long ago from the pain of her torn and bleeding feet, but luckily(Or unluckily, depending on your point of view) the precipitation that so rarely visited the land of fire had numbed away the pain, replacing it with toes that were rapidly turning purple and blue, and allowing her to walk on. "She didn’t know who she was. She didn’t know where she was coming from. She knew where she was supposed to be going, but had no idea how to get there. Her only hope was that she was walking in the right direction. She didn’t stop. She didn’t eat. She didn’t sleep. She just walked. "Though her eyes grew heavy and her mind dulled, she would not allow them to have the rest they so craved, for fear that the carnage behind her would haunt her dreams." She gives you a pointed look after she finishes reading, and you realize that it's the first time you've seen her eyes. They're an odd mixture of blue and green, with a bit of hazel around the pupil. You're so busy studying them that you don't realize you haven't said anything. "Well?" she asks, jolting you back to reality. "What did you think?" "It was, interesting, but I have no idea what it was about," you answer honestly. She waves it off. "It's a Naruto/X-Men Evolution crossover that I plan to write in the future. Working on multiple stories as my muse comes and goes helps me to be able to at least get something out." "So you have other things like that?" you ask. "Yeah, loads," she answers. "I've been diagnosed with ADHD since I was, what, six? I dunno. We tried medication, but I adjusted to it too quickly, and they kept having to up the dosage. Eventually it was doing more harm than good, so they took me off. Writing multiple stories at once helps me to always be doing something whenever I get writer's block for one." "So, how old are you then?" You asked after taking all that in. She rolls her eyes. "Eighteen, I told you that already." "Really?" Now you're confused. You could have sworn that she hadn't... "No," The girl deadpans. "I just wanted to see if you would scroll back up and read the entire thing again." "Scroll?" "So many questions," she sighs. "That was a Polar Express reference by the way, in case you didn't get that." You stay silent for once, wondering if you could still make a break for it. This chick is clearly nuts. "Any other questions you wanna ask?" She says after a moment. There are a few, but you're not sure if it would be a good idea to ask... "Go on, spit it out, I can take it," She sighs, and you decide that calling her, 'she' all the time is getting annoying. "What's you're name?" you ask. "Easy. SilentSongAtDawn, though just Dawn is okay too. And before you ask, yes, that is a Warrior Clan thing. I was super into it as a kid, but after You blink owlishly at her. "I just asked for your name." Dawn shrugs. "I go off on tangents a lot. I'm also trying to provide info for the people reading this." "What are you talking about?" "Exactly what I said. I just like breaking the fourth wall." "Anything else you want to tell the," you pause to mime air quotes, "readers, then?" "Actually, yes," Dawn answers. "I'm in my senior year of high school this year, so fewer updates. Sorry, I know I already suck at updating. I live off of reviews, so let's upgrade my hobo shack to at least an apartment, yeah? I'm gonna put up a poll about which story you guys want more once I get on a pc, since I've been doing this on my phone for the most part. I'm fireproof, so flames really have no point, though I love constructive criticism. Reviews and messages really help motivate me, so keep them coming. If you want me to read your story, just pm me or something. My favorite color is blue, and I hate cauliflower." In the following silence, you hear crickets chirping, but then see Dawn just has a 'Cricket App' on her phone. "You're insane." "Confuse don't abuse, that's my motto," the brunette shrugs, leaning back in her chair. "If that's all, you can go now, unless you wanna read one of my stories, which you'll have to do yourself." You stare at her for a moment. She stares back. And then you decide that maybe you will go look at one of those stories. |
