First and Foremost

It must be said, before the beginning of this profile, that I was formally known as twitch-raven. I am still know by that name on youtube, and for those of you who like Castle, take a look at my vids. I have a couple.

It must also be said that the change in name was due to an extremely personal event in my life. It is without a doubt an event that I would wish on no other living being, and I sincerely hope that none of you ever have to suffer from a scarred heart, as I have recently.

Second of Lesser Importance Than Former

I am an author on this site, true. However, I read far more than I write, and I review many of the works that I read. It is important to me, as a writer myself, to point out some things that I believe should be known. I have more stories on other sites than here, some of them original, some not.

Some General Information

I have really only branched out in a non-negligible way to three different sections on this site, and those are: Castle (TV), Harry Potter (book), and the Inheritance Cycle (book).

Though the Harry Potter books and I have a long and entertaining history, my favourite romances (because I really dislike the word 'ships') on this site are without a doubt:

My favourite music is generally slow, and very usually, these days, about love in some respect.

My best friend tells me that, whilst I am also a gentleman and a scholar, I am a lover. Unlike some people who would find this title to be a sign of weakness, I don't. I personally believe, even with my recent extremely saddening experiences with love, that love, as an emotion, and more fundamentally as a state of being, is the most powerful weapon; the clearest thought; the greatest acknowledgement; the strongest strength; the weakest weakness; the kindest friend; the meanest enemy; and last, but certainly not least, the most beautiful emotion.

I was rather unhappy with the ending to the last installment of Inheritance, which I won't reveal here. Sufficed to say that I believe in the old line: Love conquers all (Omnia vincet amor). I believe that those two characters deserve a better, a happier ending.

By the same token as above, I also believe that all people deserve to experience the joys and the pains of love. I have certainly experienced them myself, and I sincerely believe - no, believe isn't the write word. I sincerely hope that all of you who are reading this experience love. To some, it may not seem so profound.

FanficwriterGHC - If you read one, read this one. Of Finding Innocence is definitely a 10/10 story, and another of the top three, and she is by far a 10/10 author. Amazing.

softer - the first amazing Caslte author I found. Great stories, and a great taste in music. Download the 13 soundtrack. I've fallen in love with it, and am trying to work out a Castle video to some of it's songs.

This is my first story that I actually like that I put up here. All the others are never to see the light of day. I love this story. I really do. Most authors don't like their earliest works, but I really like this story. It took me a while to write, mostly because of the intricacies of the word choice.

I love my life. I really do. There is nothing that could make me want to take it. Nothing at all. Though, if I was where you were, if I lost the love of my life, I reckon I'd be pretty close.

Something of My Own Words

It is often the case, here on this site, that when I read the profiles of highly accomplished authors, they have copy and pasted something in support of some cause somewhere. I believe, that as an author, I should champion my own words in the support of what I believe. For the act of following the words of another are not enough for me. I am not content to parrot, even if the text is good. So here, beneath, you can choose to read some of words, and, if I have done my job right, you will see something beautiful. If I haven't, and you are uninspired, and unmoved, that's fine. You have the right to act and believe in however way you wish, and I believe in that right.

Colourful Love

They say that all emotions have colours. You see red, in anger. They say it is the colour of rage; the colour of blood spilled in revenge, or in defense.

They give black to evil, to darkness, and what lurks, for the colour itself is dark.

By the token rule of opposites, they give white to light and good.

They give blue to calm, and to clarity; to the tranquility of a still pond, the profound revelations of the pouring rain.

They give green and brown to the earth, for they are raw, the colours of grass, of moss, of dirt, of the ground and the trees and their leaves, and all else that is solid.

They give orange and yellow to the sun and to its warmth, for the that is what we see it as, and that is what we feel it as.

The most powerful emotions, the greatest symbols, the unforgettable things, all, it seems, have a colour to call friend. A colour to light its own banner. But then, I ask, which colour can describe the most powerful of emotions?

Which colour can love call friend? Which colour does love champion?

Some people say that love is a state, and not an emotion, and so deserves no colour of its own. I say otherwise. I say that love has no one champion, no one flag, no one person, no one colour.

How can it?

Love is so much more than one emotion, so much bigger, so much more powerful. Love encompasses so many emotions: from kindness, to sadness, to depression, to pain, to misery, to warmth, to the home, to the morning light, to the new day, to the old moon, the beach, to twirling hair, to passion, to rawness, to the profound, to clarity, to sight, to truth and the profile of a lover's turned cheek, to kindness again.

All are love.

And so love can have no one colour, but instead, it shall have something as beautiful as it deserves. It shall have the rainbow of all colours, the rainbow of light and warmth, and it shall be the emotion to which all others are in awe off.

Rage passes. Warmth leaves us. Clarity escapes us.

But love is true, and true love never dies.
