![]() Author has written 15 stories for Warriors, Rurouni Kenshin, Redwall, Hunger Games, and Angry Birds. "She is Hi10000000. Just one girl. Just one who spends hours reading and writing, letting stories fly around her mind. Just one who wishes for peace, a naive dream. Just one who, when faced with problems, tends to run away... She is just one girl, one sweet (NOPE), naive girl unaware of the world's horrors that are waiting just outside the closed doors of her mind. But she is Hi10000000, and her pen will not stop moving, her words will not stop coming, and her stories will be posted, no matter what, no matter what. She is Hi10000000, and her words may just sway the world forever." She also thinks about strange things. Hello. This is Hi10000000. Yes, I know that is a weird name. The "Hi" part is the greeting "hi"-- you know, like "hello". There are 7 zeros behind the 1 because I like the number 7. When addressing my FanFiction account verbally, I call myself "Hi-one-thousand." Just so you know. All my stories are short, emotional, way too descriptive, don't make sense, and just plain weird. You have been warned. And if you read too many of my stories, you will get tired of my style pretty fast. If you do not like people strongly expressing their opinions, I do suggest that you do not read my profile. Oh, and if any weird ads pop up, please ignore them. Is that a given? If you review one of my one shots, I will try to reply by leaving a review with my reply under the "--" thing. You'll see. One more thing...Google "Uncyclopedia". The results are quite interesting. Also, there is a story on FictionPress, and it greatly amuses me. Here --http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2429034/1/On-the-Case-of-Unfemininity It is freaking hilarious. This one is also funny --http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2428204/1/Vampiric-Kiss-AKA-Fangs-in-My-Neck And lastly, I would like to say that any Guest reviews are highly welcomed, as they do seem to provide more entertainment than the story itself. It's always amusing to see those who claim to be "calm and collected" running about angrily and trying desperately to get revenge just because one little girl's soft spoken words have pissed the off so much. Honestly, I didn't know that "trolls" got angry so easily. But they just seem to keep coming--I FEEL SO LOVED. I would just like to point out that many Twilight haters hate Twilight because of the romance-with-a-vampire thing. However, said people (SOME) are perfectly fine with the exact same thing if it appears in anime. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME. Which leads me to the theory that most "Twilight haters" only hate it because that's what the majority is doing. Either they are afraid of being made fun of, or they just want to "fit in" and "look cool" with their "witty" insults (Most likely the latter). Same with Justin Bieber "haters". "Haters" (quote, quote) I can only wonder if we are the same. Now, enter the deep, dark maze that is my profile. Do not wander to far, and do not enter the shadows, for this maze is twisted beyond comprehension and filled with dead ends and endless corridors. So beware, as you set off through your quest through this profile... Just kidding. What I'm trying to say is that this profile is very messy. And there's no way one can get lot in a profile, right? Right? Info-- Gender: Female. That I will tell you. Age: Its ONLY an even or odd number between zero and infinite. ONLY. Address: That is none of your concern. Religion: Christian. I believe that Jesus saved us from our sins and that He will eventually come again. Beware of: Hypocrisy and self-contradiction in my rants and actions. Mostly the rants. And the stuff in the rants is probably just a repeat of what others had said before. I really don't know. In short, I IS A HYPOCRITE. Status: [x] Alive [ ] Dead [x] Has writer's block and will not be posting something anytime soon [ ] active-ish [ ] In a bad mood/depressed Things I like: Reading, writing, drawing random cartoonish cats, climbing trees (sorta), rambling about stuff, thinking about stuff, breaking the rules of the playground (LOL funny memories), accepting people, BOOKS, people who do not go nuts on me just because I hate the character xe fangirls over, people who will accept that my belief is different than theirs, singing the Nyan Cat and other repetitive and annoying and childish songs, saying "potato" when a conversation runs dry. Things I don't like: Physical stuff (because I am L-A-Z-Y), unneeded violence (runs away screaming), people who fangirl over characters who do not actually exist, stereotypes (especially those about girls), arrogant, conceited people (redundant?), people who say "stupid" and face palm whenever others express themselves, people who think that they are the boss (but actually aren't) and always tell others what to do, Truth-or-Dare fanfics (they seem to mock the canon characters, insanity, death and sometimes really seem wannabe), Mary-Sues (Kind of doesn't fit with the rest of the stuff, but oh well), hentai manga and anime, when FanFiction authors insert themselves into a story as a Mary-Sue character just so then they can be with a character they fangirl over (Does all this make me a hater?), violent tsundere (they just bug me), yandere who murder those who their love interest is close to (idiots just don't realize that they are just hurting their love interest more) Favorite series/books/manga: Warriors by Erin Hunter, Harry Potter by J K Rowling, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Rurouni Kenshin by Nobuhiro Watsuki Favorite/least favorite characters-- (this section is long. You might want to skip it) Warriors: Favorite: Graystripe (only in the first arc-- he was HAPPY), Hollyleaf (before she came back from the tunnels), Ivypool (The warrior, not the apprentice. The spying-on-Dark-Forest-for-the-Three warrior), Sandstorm (only in the first arc), Brightheart (just in the first arc-- I admire her strength and kindness), Ravenpaw, Yellowfang (the alive one-- I admire her strength.) Least favorite: Jayfeather (is a whiny jerk), Lionblaze (for some reason), Dovepaw (is kind of Sue-y), Firestar (is a Mary-Sue), Brokenstar (was a JERK) Harry Potter: Favorite: Hermione Granger (brains over brawn any day), Ginny Weasly (She's a rebel), Ron Weasly (He actually has realistic qualities), Fred and George Weasly (I appreciate their sense of humor, although they are prejudiced against Slytherins), Luna Lovegood (she's weird. I like that. She's also nice.) Least Favorite: Draco Malfoy (coward, hiding behind his father's image), Severus Snape (is a bully just like James Potter), Romilda Vane (is a fangirl. And you can't just force someone to fall in love with you, its inhumane. Need I say more?), Gildroy Lockhart (has a severe ego problem. And he just bugs me. I think you know why.) The Hunger Games: Favorite: Rue (she didn't deserve to die. She was so sweet.), Primrose Everdeen (innocence in a corrupted world), Thresh (sort of), Peeta Mellark (sort of, although kind of Sue-y), Annie Cresta Least Favorite: Glimmer (PREP and sadist), Cato (sadistic murderer and douchebag), Clove (sadist), President Snow (sadist) Finnick Odair (He's cool, but ...yeah). [yeah, I guess my opinions are typical-ish] Rurouni Kenshin: Favorite: Makimachi Misao (SHE'S HAPPY!!!!! But her fangirl side does ANNOY me), Sanjo Tsubame (she's really nice), Myojin Yahiko (acts like a brat sometimes, but I admire his strength) Least Favorite: Himura Kenshin (Is a Mary-Sue), Seta Soujiro (is too creepy), Hiko Sejiro XIII (is a conceited jerk) Stuff 1(time for me to show off! :D)- -Just because I don't agree with your belief doesn't mean that I am evil. Me not believing in your philosophies does not give you an excuse to punch me in the face. Same goes for me. Just because you do not agree with my beliefs does not mean that I will fame you endlessly and hate your guts. I have different reasons for hating people. -I know I can be hypocritical. I know that I am biased against Mary-Sues. -Please remember that your life lies in the real world, not the computer screen, not the anime world, not the book world, etc. -Greek Mythology- isn't Hades Persephone's uncle? Zeus and Hera are siblings. And Selene raped Endymion. -Isn't calling others "judgmental" you being judgmental, too? -Will revenge really make everything better? -The past will never change. You can angst about it, cry over it, wallow in it and let your present life waste away, but it will never change. Instead, focus on the present before you. -The people you lost in your past who were all precious to you will not be pleased if you join them in Heaven (AKA, if you die). Nor will they be happy if you are sad, wallowing in grief and letting your life waste away. Instead, you should carry on living for them. They died and you lived, so let their memory live on inside a you who is living a life, not a you who is wasting away. - Oh, so it's not okay to have a sparkly vampire in literature, but it okay to have one in anime? Hmm. - I believe that one's personality and fate is not defined by their race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or any of the above combined, but by them and them themselves. We are individual people not a lump of numbers that are exactly the same. Things that I want to rant about-- (Although I may just be making a mountain out of a molehill) 1. The prejudice in Redwall. I started reading the Redwall series when I was in elementary school. At first I agreed, but after I read Outcast of Redwall, I realized that what they called "wisdom" was actually prejudice. The villains were always one group of species, and the heroes always another. The heroes began to discriminate the members of the villains' species, even if they hadn't even met them yet. In High Rhulain, Tiria, the main character, accidentally kills a rat. She is treated like a hero. At first she is sad, because she COMMITED MURDER, but then her father tells her that all rats are evil, no matter what. This comforts her, and she soon forgets. As I was reading this, the only thing in my mind was: YOU DIDN'T EVEN MEET HIM YET, AND YOU JUDGE HIM AND KILL HIM. THAT IS MURDER. IF A RAT ACCIDENTALLY HURT A MOUSE, NEVERMIND KILL, HE WOULD BE EXECUTED ON THE SPOT. SO ITS OKAY FOR YOU TO HURT THEM, BUT ITS NOT OKAY FOR THEM TO HURT YOU? My story, Troll Bait, rants about this, although it does have an ulterior motive. 2. in Rurouni Kenshin, how Hiten Mitsurugi is suppsoed to be a stype that only protects people. I really don't get it. First of all, most of the moves are designed to kill. KILL. MIND. BLOWN. I know they stay alive if one uses a reverse-blade sword, but Kenshin was the only Hiten-user who did that. Second, Hiten Mitsurugi is basically violence. Violence's entire nature is to hurt people. To use violence to protect someone, one must hurt the person threatening that someone. The threatener, although not very nice (severe understatement here), is still a person. If you are protecting one person by hurting another, that's not protecting. However, it does not stop there. The world is not always divided between innocent victim and evil attacker. Not always divided between good and evil. Most of the time, it is just two forces clashing because they disagree with each other. Both sides have hands as dirty as the other, both sides feel very strongly that they are right and the other is wrong, in the end, both sides are people. In fiction, there is a protagonist and an antagonist, but it is not that way in real life. In reality, everyone is the protagonist of their own lives. If you choose one side to fight on with your uber killing death moves that are basically freaking invincible, you really aren't fighting against evil, just increasing the body count. Which is pretty evil, if you ask me. So basically, Hiten Mitsurugi is just an incredibly powerful style that would obliterate one side. This would be great if the world was split neatly between good and evil, but it is not. So you're not killing evil, you're killing people. People, who are no different from you. In the end, I think that Hiten Mitsurugi is not something that only protects people. It hurts people. Hiten Mitsurugi is no more than a power that is whatever the user uses it for, just like every other type of violence there is. Also, I would like to add that sitting on the sidelines, watching people get killed without doing anything, and twiddling your thumbs as all of the above runs through your ehad is not protecting people either. It's called not doing anything. Hate to rain on your parade, Sejiro. 3. Warriors-Jayfeather. First of all, I think that Jayfeather is despicable. If I knew him personally, I'd want to rip is face off. What gives him the right to be so cruel to other cats? What gives him the right to take out his own anger on others? What gives him the right, I quote: "To be all high and mighty, then act so helpless?" He says he doesn't want any pity, but I think its kind of unfair for others, because he can sense their emotions, no matter how hard they try to hide it. And he doesn't have to pry in every cats' business. Every cat has something they want to hide, and he should respect their privacy. He says he doesn't want pity, but his actions tell me that he secretly expects it. And all he does is mope around and wallow in self-pity, being cruel to other cats and prying into their minds. I'll bet if you knew him personally, you'd want to rip off his face, too. And I'll bet that he would freak out if he knew there were a bunch of she-twolegs who want to glomp him. 4. In a couple, how the girl pushes around a guy. That just bugs me. I mean, first of all, the statement: "guys should be nice to girls" is a stereotype, but thats not the point. The point is that the girls are seriously going over the top with being mean to the guy. I mean, the guy is a person too, not just your robot to control. he has feelings, too. The guy is your boyfriend, not your slave. He deserves to be treated nicely. There are plenty of couples out there that are really nice, but some of the other couples are so extreme that the guy fears the girl. I mean, thats just going over the top. (I hope I don't turn out like that.) 5. On the other side of the coin (see above), I hate those stereotypes they have about girls. They say that all girls are good at cooking, and house keeping, and although it a compliment, they seem to be implying that thats the only thing we can do. It just bugs me how they judge us without even getting to know us. They say that we will always be weaker than men, no matter how hard we try to improve. Its like they're saying that we should give up, because no matter how hard we try, we will never reach our goals. They say we are inferior to them. But don't we say bad things about them, too? In elementary school and parts of middle school, the genders just seem to be at war. I guess you could say that sexism both ways bugs me. 6. Sarcasm is not the answer to everything, contrary to popular belief. Although being sarcastic when someone makes a mistake will make you look "cool", it really won't make you a better person (quite the opposite, really). It may seem fun to those who use sarcasm to make fun of people who make mistakes. It might seem funny when the victim is humiliated and laughed at (synonymous words, I guess). But then suddenly the sarcasm user is being mocked with his of her very own weapon (sarcasm), and suddenly it isn't so funny anymore. But sarcasm isn't illegal, YET. Because, just so you know, sarcasm is not the ultimate weapon. It's quite easy to combat, actually. 7. Insanity is not "cool", at least not in our era, our world. Neither is sadism. FYI. 8. Fangirls who go over the top about whoever they love, especially if said person is not real. It's one thing if they just say that they like the character. That's perfectly fine. But it really gets annoying when every time one tries to start a conversation, the fangirl starts ranting about how awesome the character is and refuses to listen to anything else. It's also annoying when the fangirl goes nuts and verbally (or physically, depending on who it is) murders someone if that someone does not like the character. And when the fangirl inserts xemself as a Mary-Sue character into the story just to be with a character, it really screams "wannabe". No offense- wait- YES OFFENSE. Sorry. Here's a weird poem I wrote-- Flames That Swallowed the Stars Written for the children who suffer in war. "Flames are swallowing the stars" Mama says "Flames are swallowing the stars our hope our way of life." But flames seem so friendly to me-- flickering in the fireplace glowing on our candles bringing light and warmth. But-- "Flames are swallowing the stars" Mama says looking out the window and I see a different kind of flame reflected in her sad, sad eyes by the horrors outside "Don't go outside" Mama says --linelineline-- Papa comes home today "Flames are swallowing the stars" he says, too. I show him a candle burning strong warm and point to the stars framed by the windows bright. He laughs but it is hollow, as if something was missing in his heart- empty "Not real flames" he says "flames of hatred from within the human heart." Hatred what is hatred? The question lingers in my eyes and Papa sighs "terrible things best left unsaid like this war outside-- don't go outside" I notice His face is drawn pale and strange red runs from his stained, stained hands and his eyes swim with tears. Hatred and war. What are they, There "monsters born of the human heart"? Are they the flames swallowing the stars? --linelineline-- The intruder came in the dark of night like a burglar but she was not her face was desperate her eyes hollow, broken. Long cuts lace her face and strange red stains her body as if it is seeping from her soul. Mama is asleep Papa away so I am alone and afraid. I shrink back, trying to hide, but there is nowhere and I want to run but can't. But she is broken and whispers something desperately, gasping face twisted in some emotion -- fear? -- muttering desperately she grabs at me I freeze then push her away out the door into the darkness. She fades quickly fading, gone just a bang a gasp a burst of bright red and she is gone, forever stolen by the hunters of the night. I realize what she said-- "Help me" --linelineline-- Papa shot a man today it was simpler than expected-- just a smooth, round bullet whistling through the air a burst of red then the life is fading, fading-- gone. A life is fragile I realize easily stolen easily fading, gone easily burnt away the ashes scattered into the mourning hearts of others staining them gray, hopeless. And since the world The stars are made up of lives they are easily broken the world shattered, falling around us the light of the moon, the stars burnt away into the darkness of night like my wide, wide eyes red splatters our floor red like the dying sun, endings red like flames-- those flames swallowing the stars --linelineline-- strange men dressed officially but are wolves in officer's clothing strange men speaking with Papa No not speaking-- threatening threatening, promising "death" "You will die today" they say. What is death? I look up from where I hide but Mama shields me and I soon see why. A burst of red a gasp cold, cold eyes and a life fading, fading Papa crumples to the floor like he's asleep but forever. Mama screams but I hear nothing I only see the red splatters staining my heart, soul tearing apart into shreds of insanity. I hear a distant crying tears of grief silent, but loud as thunder sliding down a face-- then I realize it's my own --linelineline-- Mama lunges but is thrown back in a explosion of red and I see a sharp, silver blade protruding through her back red rains like fire, like ice burning, burning sharp red burning my mind. Blood. the word comes now blood blood of the innocent falling, falling burning away the sanity the stars like flames the flames that swallowed the stars the flames that swallowed the stars I know it now-- its burning in my heart, the flames that swallowed the stars the flames that swallowed the stars. --linelineline-- Stuff 2 (Time for me to show off again! :D) Derpity herpa herp derp derp. Herpa derp? Derp! Derpa no herpy derp la herpity derp derp derp, derpa derp no herp herp. DERP. (Just kidding) Revenge- I think revenge is unneeded. Okay, so let's pretend that Bob and Joe are at war. Bob kills Joe's best friend. In that moment, Joe hates Bob. Joe wants Bob to feel the same pain that he felt. Joe wishes for Bob and all those like him to suffer and die. So for revenge, Joe kills Bob's best friend. No we are equal, Joe thinks. But Bob disagrees. Bob is now feeling the exact same pain that Joe felt before. But since Joe killed Bob's best friend, that means that Joe is no better that Bob, whom he hates and wants to die. Although Joe was not seeking to be any better than Bob, Joe hated Bob and all those who were like him, so Joe should hate himself. Besides, do you think that Joe's best friend would have wanted Joe to become a murderer, living on only one thing, hatred, as it ate away his sanity? Do you think that Joe's best friend would want Joe to become no better than the person who killed him? In the end, you could say that neither Joe or Bob are evil, its the hatred and revenge in their hearts that is wrong. Those feelings are human, but Joe and Bob should not have let them take over their minds and rip away their sanity and common sense. In the end, revenge is the true monster. If you let those feelings control you, then you will just make the revenge cycle grow stronger, a spiral into darkness. Although it might seem that you are bringing justice and fixing things, you are actually just fanning the flames, just encouraging the cycle of hatred. You will be no more than prey for the revenge, and it will ultimately burn away all of your happiness, maybe even your sanity, and all that you will have left is ashes, ashes of what once was. Yeah, I'm probably just quoting the Bible. Good and evil- i think that the world is not black and white, it is shades of grey. There is no 100% evil, except for Satan, and there is no 100% good, except for God. A lot of times, people say that they are all good and that their enemies are all evil, but it is not that way. Because their enemies are thinking the exact same thing about them, that they are evil. So let's pretend that Derp is fighting Herp. Derp thinks that Herp is evil, and that he himself is good. So when Derp loses and Herp wins, Derp thinks That was unfair! Herp is evil! But when Derp wins and Herp loses, Derp thinks That was totally fair! Herp deserved it! But Derp doesn't realize that when Herp lost, she was thinking the exact same thing that Derp was thinking when he himself lost. How can Derp bear to inflict on Herp the emotion (defeat) that he himself hated so much? Does that make him a hypocrite? (I say I understand, but I probably actually don't.) Peace- A lot of people say that their lives are boring. No excitement at all. Just everyday stuff, no spice at all. Things would be a little better with a little adventure, they say, a little danger. But what they don't realize is that this boring, as they call it, is actually peace. What they don't realize is that what they are wishing for, adventure, battles, danger, actually are happening right now. But these aren't the fairy tale adventures, quests, epics of great battles that stories and dreams make it seem like, where the good guys always win. These are cold reality, where thousands of people die and even more are left with their hearts ripped in two, their lives destroyed. They don't realize that what they are indirectly wishing for is actually what thousands of others are wishing to stop. It seems that they have gotten so confident in the peacetime that they can be arrogant enough to wish for it to end. But war is not like a video game, where game over just means a restart. In real life, game over is game over, forever. As they say, be careful what you wish for... I'll bet that when a war actually starts, all those people who wished for excitement will be begging for peace. Are we no better than the Capitol? (Hunger Games reference)- The Capitol is known to readers for its cruelty and sadism. I mean, they send children, innocent children, to fight to the death, and enjoy it! They are the embodiment of evil, you say, the embodiment of evil and sadism, ignorance of the suffering they cause. But are we any better than the Capitol? Some of us hate people so much we want them to die, but we've never actually met them before. For example, some of us hate Justin Bieber, Stephanie Meyer, Rebecca Black, etc. when we've never actually met them in person. We hate them because of what they made, just songs and books, not because of who they actually are. And we also tend to lash out at their fans, and discriminate them just because of their opinions and favorites. Don't you think that is kind of a stupid, cruel way to judge people? And is it even right to hate someone so much that you want them to die, even when what they did to you is either nothing or really insignificant? Honestly, you have more of a right to hate me than you have to hate those people listed above. [95% of girls would sit and cry if Justin Beiber jumped off of the Empire State Building. Copy and Paste this if you are part of the 5% that would sit there with popcorn and a soda and yell, "Do a flip!" 95% Of the girls in the world would cry a river if Justin Bieber was chosen for the Hunger Games. Repost this If you are the 5% that would just volunteer just to chase him around with a (very) pointy stick!] This is something I found on someone else's profile. I trust that in a real situation, if someone was about to die, people who are not sadists or belong in an asylum will not "sit there with popcorn and a soda and yell 'do a flip!' ". It would also be very stupid to risk your life life just to chase someone around with a pointy stick. Which leads me into my next point. A lot of people, yes, a lot, often say that they are crazy/mentally challenged when its obvious that they are not. I think they mean it as a joke, just something to say to make you look "cool". But do you seriously think that insanity is "cool", something to joke about? Thousands of people are suffering from insanity and mental issues right now, struggling to do things we take for granted. So can we really justify joking about something that causes so much suffering? Also, many of my childhood friends could talk about torture methods and war as if it was no more than the weather. They talk about it like its just a joke, like they enjoy it. (For more on this, see the previous rant thingy) One person said that if he became president, he would make the Hunger Games a reality just so then he could kill those he hated. He was joking, but is that something to joke about? Is that something to even think about? And I know that there are a lot more people out there like this. Does this match up with the Capitol's sadism? And some of us (this time, not much) have so many possessions that they just throw them out. Like how we throw out leftovers of a large meal. We literally are swimming in possessions, even when people in less fortunate places are dying of need, need for what are are throwing out. This kind of matches the Capitol's hoarding of possessions, don't you think? Are we no better than the Capitol? This rant-thingy was to biased to my opinion, so please take some time to consider that question. Observe those around you, and compare it to the behavior of the Capitol. I think we may just be better than the Capitol, but when I think about it, many of the traits I find in the Capitol I can also find in this world (ie. Trolls on the internet considered "cool" for hurting others and cyberbullying). Are we no better than the Capitol? Am i no better than the Cpaitol, for writing this and becoming a hypocrite? Probably. Pleasing Society (or more accurately, the Internet)- Face it- the world's pretty hard to please. After all, everyone has a different opinion, and some are just, no offense, PLAIN STUPID. As according to the Internet; "if you're a woman, you are a shallow, overcomplicated, weak creature. If you're a man, you are a douchebag who only cares about sex. If you're religious, you are completely obsessed with your religion and will murder anyone who says otherwise. If you don't have a religion, you hate everything and are dark and disturbed. If you love anime, you have no real life or friends. If you hate anime, you are a narrow-minded jerk. If you are a gamer, you have no outside life. If you are not a gamer, you are kind of stupid and a YOLO swagger. If you don't go on the internet often, you are behind-the-times and are probably too stupid to figure it out. If you go on the Internet, you have no social life. If you are a virgin, you need to grow up and face life. If you have had sex many times, you are a whore, slut, or a douchebag." Yeah. No matter what you do, there will always be someone who disapproves and will judge you. Because face it: its impossible to please everyone. And even though every thing I listed above is false (usually), the world is full of people and many will judge you. So why bother running around trying to please everyone? No matter what you do, someone will always disagree and shoot you down. So why bother? Instead, just take life as you want to and be yourself. Don't let others' opinions affect your decisions too much (but they do matter, because at least some of them make sense). As they say, "HATERS GONNA HATE". (And yes, you really do only live once. Surprise!) The Internet- The Internet is both a weakness and a strength. You can find almost anything on it (although most of what you find is probably false). But that anything is two-sided, because when they say anything, they mean anything. Ranging from the structure of a plant cell to the different sex positions, the Internet has it all. FYI, I was 11 when I found out about the birds and the bees- I pieced it together by reading delightful (NOT) stories on this very site! (Just sayin'.) The anything factor is can be really dangerous, I guess. And add on the fact that most of the stuff on here is more opinion than fact, and more fake than anything else, and you have quite a thing in your hands, really. Navigate with care, you Internet sailors. Navigate with care. Normal- Is there really a "normal"? Or just what we perceive as normal? For example: in the past, it was normal for women to wear long, layered dresses and to stay home all day. Now, that is the opposite of normal. So I guess "normal" is just what the majority is doing, and it changes over time. There is no universal "normal" that works for everything that exists, has existed before, or will exist in the future. So think twice before shunning someone for being "abnormal". Besides, weird is good. USUALLY. Opinions on the Internet- You say it on the Internet, where no one knows who you actually are, where there is a screen and a comfortable distance between you and others, where you can delete all traces of yourself, say it clear as day, brazen and unafraid of judgment. But would you say if everyone could see who you actually are, where mistakes are un-deletable and forever, where there is only a couple of inches between you and others, say it in the real world? I hope I would. Of art and photography- Photography shows what is there. Art shows what is not. Therefore, although photography seems easier than art, its actually harder to communicate a message using photography than to do so using art. Before photoshop, that is. Violence- I think that violence should always be the last resort. A problem will not be solved if one just eradicates the person the problem is seemingly stemming from. Violence's true nature is basically hurting others, so no matter what you do, someone will always end up getting hurt and feeling broken. Violence tears apart lives and families, and always leaves brokenness and pain in its wake. And what I really don't understand is how someone can use violence to "protect people". You said people. Not yourself, not just one type of people, but all people, equally. Violence's true nature is to hurt others. I don't see how one can hurt someone to protect someone else and claim it be "protecting people". PEOPLE. To "protect" someone with violence, you must hurt someone else. That someone else is also a person. Therefore, you are not protecting "people". However, there are times when nothing else works. There are times when one must stand up and fight for what xe thinks is right. There are times when the only answer is violence (but before charging in, please think it through). Then, people should fight not to wound, but to bring change towards the better. People will get hurt, so you cannot call it protecting. But I suppose one could be fighting to bring peace, although, more often than not, that does not work at all. AT ALL. For the greater good, they say. And jokes about violence; jokes about people dying, getting hurt, broken, going insane...not funny. Beliefs- I think that people should think for themselves. I think people should stand for what they think is right. These days, it seems that there are some people out there who are brazen and bold in their beliefs, speaking them bravely without any regard for the fact that others would judge them. (Not necessarily good) And then there are slightly more people out there who find the first type of person and hastily agree to whatever they said, even if it is not what they actually believe. Some (I SAID SOME) people tend to "mold" themselves to fit others' beliefs, just so they can become the other person's friend, gain the other's trust, and/or gain the approval of others. They will agree with all of the other's views, even if they secretly don't agree. I think that these people are a bit of cowards, afraid of judgment and just wanting to "go with the flow" and be compatible with everyone's views. This is not necessarily bad, but when viewed by others, it seems that they have no opinion for themselves. I think we should not shove out opinions down others' throats, but at the same time we should not change our opinion just to get more popular. I mean, if Justin Beiber said that "murder is wrong", would you start killing left and right? No. This was mostly directed towards myself. Magic- I think that what we call "magic" is actually just what we currently cannot explain with science. If we cannot explain it, we call it "supernatural" and "magic", but if we can, we call it "science". If someone from our era time-traveled to the past and brought a flashlight, all the people from the past would call the flashlight "magic". So maybe what we call "supernatural" and "magic" right now will be very basic scientific knowledge in the future. Evil-doing- I think that everyone has evil in their hearts. (I'm not saying evil as in "ME BLOW UP THE WORLD!", although that is included. I mean smaller evils, like stealing candy, lying, revenge for small things.) Evil as in: hatred, revenge, jealousy, greed, etc. People who do evil and know that they are probably have weaker resolves, therefore they give in to the evil in their hearts tempting them. Stronger-willed people can resist the evil's temptations, therefore they don't do evil things. It's easier to give in to the evil. For example: it's easier to get angry at someone and get revenge than to forgive. It's easier to abuse power and use it to your own advantage (i.e. "I am king of the world! Everyone shall obey me and give me money! More money! More money! GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!!!") than to use it fairly. It's easier to blame someone else than to admit that it was your own fault. However, some people are strong-willed, however, they think that they are doing the right thing but actually they are doing evil. I just know that this has already been said somewhere else. Villains- I divide villains into three main groups. The first is the most evil (my opinion). They want to hurt others as much as possible and basically cause chaos and pain. The second is more greedy than evil, I guess. They just want power, money, etc. and will hurt others without regard to get what they want. The third is least evil, although they do tend to cause most trouble. Usually after experiencing a traumatic event, they begin to believe that the world is rotten, and that they can change it for the better. The ore they think about it, the more warped their thinking becomes. Soon, they start making changes, but they don't realize that they are actually doing bad. I think that in the real world, te second is most common, followed closely by the third. Of selfishness and animals (humans are animals)- In this world, one will think of him/her self first. Because it is simply too hard for one to get through life without being selfish at least once. For example, a rabbit steals carrots from a farmer. The farmer will think of the rabbit as a "bad" pest and try to get rid of it. However, the rabbit is not being "bad" on purpose, it is just thinking of itself first. Perhaps the rabbit is starving. Perhaps the rabbit has a family to feed. Perhaps the rabbit will die if it does not steal from the farmer. But the farmer does not consider just how wretched the rabbit may be. The farmer only thinks that the rabbit is a pest. In this case, both sides are being what we call "selfish", because both are thinking of only themselves. Another example: when scientists test medicines on lab animals. This is extremely cruel to the animals, and most of the die. They view the scientists as monsters, and the scientists view them as tools. However, the medicine made from the animals' sacrifice saved countless human lives. This is selfish of us humans because we are thinking of only our own species. One could also call the lab animals selfish (bit unreasonable), for they don't realize that the medicine will save lives, and view the scientists as just monsters, not people trying to save members of their species. Also, I trust that if we put the lab animals in our place, they would sacrifice us to save their species. Humans are smarter animals. We use this knowledge to want things that we don't really need to survive, like money and power. However, we are also using this knowledge to be less selfish, do more acts of kindness, and try to solve problems even if they do not openly concern us. In other words, integrity. :) Technology improving our lives- Era after era, our technology has grown steadily more and more advanced. We use this technology to improve our lives, a good cause. However, it seems that when we went from "do it ourselves" to "have a machine do it for us", we lost something in the bargain. Probably "hard work" or "diligence" or "soul of the product". Because it simply does not feel right if we gain such wonderful rewards for hardly any work. Also, one will treasure and feel more pride towards an object that one made with his/her own hands than one out of a million objects a machine made. And if one is born into a world where machines do everything for him/her and all she/he has to do is exist and have fun, that one will most likely end up lazy (at least in our standards). Stereotypes- Stereotypes are despicable. They judge and label people like people are no more than numbers and mass-produced objects. The very idea behind them, that humans can be judged by race, gender, height, weight, etc. is incorrect. However, one must admit that stereotypes are a part of life. Judgement and bias are unavoidable in this world. And sometimes, the situation without bias is worse that it is with bias. In a way, one's parents are biased towards him/her. What would the world be like without that? And if you think about it, its not the stereotype that is hurting others, its the people who use them as weapons. Its okay to have stereotypes in your mind, as long as you do not allow this to influence your behavior so you start hurting others. And isn't the "fact" that "all stereotypes are bad" a stereotype, too? Stereotypes do not only apply to people. Judgement applies to almost everything. And is it really wrong to believe that all parents love their children? Is it really wrong to believe that friends are loyal to friends? Is it really wrong to believe that people should be loyal to their country? Is it really wrong to believe that humans' nature is not evil, but, overall, kindness? And, unfortunate as it may be, stereotypes are based of truth, however small the truth may be. The Fear of Judgment- Most humans fear judgment. We fear being called "strange", "different", "weird". We fear being different in society's eyes, although our words deny it and claim "everyone is different". We fear being the odd one out, the weird one, the one everyone looks at with disgusted eyes. And there is nothing irrational about this fear. Throughout history, those branded "different" had been shunned, spat upon, and prosecuted. Before, it was a crime to hold a different belief that others. Now, it is no longer a crime. However, while people will appear accepting and tolerating of one's difference on the surface, inwardly, they are angry and disgusted at that one for simply being different, alien. Although we can stop people actively hurting you because of your difference, we can never stop them from silently judging you. We cannot stop the silent judgment, the unspoken words meant to wound, the sheer disgust that will linger in their eyes as they look at you but see only the difference. People will not blatantly attack you for your difference, but they will appear to silently group against you and shun you. They will always gaze upon you with disgust because of your difference. I suppose the problem here is not how people act, but how people think. Rules can only control one's actions. Rules may be able to get rid of the physical harm and wounding words, but they will never be able to erase the hatred in their eyes. Rules will never get rid of the judgment in the hearts of others, they will never be able to make others accept you. But these others, they are not meaning to judge, are they? I think that judging is just natural to them, natural to us. When we see something different from what we know and believe, we tend to automatically try to avoid it. The sheer difference of it makes us nervous and afraid. We have been raised to believe one thing (and we still are. Trust me), and suddenly something that goes against that all appears. Naturally we find it scary. Naturally we find it too strange for comfort. Because of these feelings (better known as judgment), we subconciously shun this new thing, this new person. We do not think of this new person as a person, rather, a strange thing so different from us. Is this not a problem? This fear of judgment limits us from many things. Many people fear getting too many good grades because they'll be called "nerds". Many people fear admitting they are homosexual because their parents, friends, and all the other familiar faces they know might suddenly become cold, too cold. Many people only start smoking because their "friends" tell them that "cool people smoke". Even children have this fear. In elementary school, I remember many of my questions remaining unspoken, because I was afraid that if I raised my hand and asked, the other children who already understood would mock me for not understanding what they thought was "easy". Really, humanity seems to live inside a cage, a cage made of the fear of judgment. Outside the cage are many more things we could achieve (both good and bad) had we not pulled back due to our fear. But those things remain unreached, for most of us are too afraid to do something new, something different, for we know that if we do, we will be judged. If you don't, then you won't care if your mom dies, will you? from Giang Tien's profile A teenage girl about 17 named Diane had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away.As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her." Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone.
