Author has written 1 story for Star Wars. Star Wars super fan since 1977. Read most of the EU books and comics. I'm more of an idea guy than a writer. For whatever reason, I really like the idea of the Star Wars stories being in one continuity, connecting to each other and to the larger story. So, when I develop story ideas, I do research into what is considered "canon" and adjust my story accordingly. If something happens in official canon that conflicts with the story idea I had, I'll abandon my story idea (For example: I had a story idea to fix the continuity error between Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith called "Padme Lives". The idea was that the midichlorians revived Padme and Bail takes her to Alderaan to act as Leia's nanny, but she is discovered and killed about 2-3 years later. Leia wouldn't find out that the nanny was her birth mother until she's in her teens, so by then she only has very vague memories of her...making Leia's comment to Luke in RotJ true. However, the latest Princess Leia book made that story impossible, so I've abandoned the idea.) |
