![]() Author has written 64 stories for Harry Potter, Inuyasha, Thor, Avengers, Once Upon a Time, and True Blood. Me? Just a humble goth girl in a colorful world. *o*o*A wolf does not turn around when a small dog barks.*o*o* FANCASTING: This is going to come across as rude, but I'm really just at my wit's end with this. Yes, I put my fancasts in the opening chapter of my fics. I do this because as soon as fancasting became a 'thing' in fanfiction, I started getting questions ALL THE TIME as to who I pictured in what role. The only reason I provide those lists is to answer the question for those who might be curious how I see the characters. An author's fancasts are not an absolute mandate that the readers must see the characters the same way. I thought this was clear, yet, even when I explain this and tell people 'you don't need to tell me who you imagine, instead,' I still get 'well, I don't agree with this casting, I prefer 'this person'." I don't care. I don't. It's funny how people are so reluctant to read Author's Notes, but you stuff a fancast list in there and suddenly everyone is running to read it to either pat you on the back for your choices, or tell you how you're wrong and it's only 'this person' who's that character for them. What about who's that character for me as the writer? Enough. Let writers imagine in peace. You either enjoy the story or you don't, as such how the writer perceives the characters, if it's different from your views, if it's the same, if it gave you a new appreciation for the role, shouldn't matter. You already have a set idea of how characters look, just keep going with whatever makes you happy. Re: MCU Fics Post-Endgame: Unless specifically stated in a particular fic, my MCU fics (including crossovers) do not take into account the events of Infinity War or Endgame (this phase of the MCU has, in fact, been dubbed The Infinity Saga, so let's go with that). Just as we have EWE for Harry Potter fics, we have to consider that some MCU fics will pull from the films, but largely will be NISC (Not-Infinity-Saga-Compliant . . . I just made that up, but it fits so let's spread that around, try to make it a thing, because some readers & other writers have asked). Trust your authors to let you know which their stories are, and if there's confusion, simply ask them if their story takes the events of Infinity War & Endgame into account. Regarding My Fics: I DO finish my fics, it just takes me a while to get there. ;) Yes, I have a lot of WIPs and the list is ever-growing, but nothing is abandoned, every story posted to my fic list will be completed. "Is it really a triad fic?" I label my fics with multi-partner relationships as either triad or poly. This should be clear, but I still get questions. Triad: denotes a triangle--3 sides connected to each other. 3 people in a relationship together (meaning all parties in the relationship are involved intimately with each other). Poly: one character involved in separate, but simultaneously-occurring relationships with multiple other characters who are not involved with one another. There is no such thing as a 'v-triad', the idea of a 3-person relationship where two of those people are not involved with each other sexually would make it a poly-fic (example: if Hermione has two husbands and they are only intimate with her, but not each other, it is a poly-fic), I have no idea who started that term, but seriously, it's not a thing. Hermione's Characterization I do not write Mary Sue Hermione. Period. You want her perfect and infallible and always having the answer at the exact right time because she just so happens to have read this obscure piece of information years ago and didn't remember until 'just now' when it became necessary to the story? Then you'll have to get your story fix elsewhere. I also do not write 'pearl-clutching virgin' Hermione. We have no evidence, whatsoever, in canon of how Hermione is with a romantic partner in private, and no evidence of her experience. Each writer should be free to write however they imagine her to be in those matters without being told it's "out of character!" simply because one writer's take on her doesn't mesh with another's. CURSED CHILD IS NOT CANON. This is the hill I’ll die on. Only my interpretation of them is 'mine' IF that interpretation is a deviation from previous versions of that character within existing fanon (or if there is currently no interpretation of the character in existing fanon outside of the one I have created). In stories where my interpretation is based on another author's (rather than canon, or unsourceable fanon), I always credit that author, as is proper, in the opening chapter Author's Notes of the story in question, and inquire if the author will allow me to borrow specified elements of their creation beforehand. If I were to ask an author if I could borrow this or that element for my story, and their answer is no, crediting them in the opening chapter A/Ns becomes a moot point, as I do not move forward with that element in my fic. I rework whatever is needed in order to abide by that author's wishes and make my story work without using that writers' creation. I do believe in giving credit where it is due. :) Novels & Stuff Feel free to PM me for info about my original fiction on Amazon, or keep up with what's going on (or just pop in and say hi :D) at my FB author page (not to be confused with my fb fanfic page [link below]). *O~O*O~O*O~O* FB Fanfic Groups: Kittenshift17, Canimal, and I have a group on FB dedicated to Death Eaters and the fans who love them.
