When the depression got too much, Maka Albarn attempted suicide but failed. Her "worried" parents decided Abraham Springs Mental Institution for Troubled Youth was her best hope. Lord Death sends Kid on a mission to a hospital to see if Medusa's daughter, Crona, knows anything about the witch's plan to revenge on the DWMA. Kid ends up figuring out that Crona is unable to walk. Later on, he ends up having feelings for the young girl, and he begins to see her everyday. Others begin to become suspicious when Kid begins to leave after school to go "somewhere."

Things just keep getting worse and worse for Kid.
