Posting-in-Progress, celebrating the 5-year anniversary of this publication and I'm returning to to post my backlist stories. This is the first JAFF story I wrote that wonders what if Elizabeth saved Mr. Darcy on the evening of the assembly from a riding accident?

Sparks fly when Miss Elizabeth Bennet takes work as a governess at Pemberley. Will deceptions, highwaymen, and one rambunctious eleven-year-old girl bring Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy together or tear them apart?

Based on the 2005 movie - picking up the story with the trainwreck proposal in the rain which ends with Darcy actually kissing Lizzy. Having just rejected Darcy's proposal, Lizzy has to come to terms with her conflicting feelings while Darcy has to rethink nearly all aspects of his life to maintain a chance on happiness in their lives.

What if Darcy stole a kiss when he deposited the letter that morning? Mr. Collins discovers them. Elizabeth has not yet read the letter. How will she react?
