I hate Harry Potter fics where Harry is beat/raped by his relatives and doesn't fight back. I hate when there is some person stronger then Harry who can kill Voldemort but only scares him for some odd reason. I hate most Harry/Hermione, Harry/Cho, Harry/Ginny and Harry/Luna. Harry/Tonks use to be good but now it is turning out to be as stupid as most Harry/Hermione. I can't stand slash seeing as how I am a guy and the thought of two guys going at it is creepy. I also hate Severitus Challenge or any other type of fic where Harry's parents aren't really his parents. But one of the things I hate most is an emotional Harry who cries over the stupidest things and goes all mushy and soap opera like. I prefer Dark but still good Harry and Independent Harry the most. Unusual pairings also score big points with me. Stories that have to do with a lot of duels, fights and battles are the best to read, especially if you have a strategy smart dark side, who actually knows what they are doing, instead of the usual idiots people potray them as. I like it when people describe the wizarding world as having a large population in the hundreds of thousand, or even millions. When people list the wizarding population in the United Kingdom as only a few hundred, it really takes away from the action scenes and the whole war. I don't like when people have battles that always end with no one on the Light side dying. I also don't like it when the light side uses stunners and body-binds to subdue people. I also can't stand it when suddenly Harry becomes more powerful then Voldemort. I can read several fics that have these type of settings in them only if the plot and writing style is really good.

11/23/2015 Update - So I have my potential end of The Areani already worked out. I have the major events of the story in my head and just need to put them into story form; another eight to ten chapters worth. I was planning on The Phoenix Rebellion, which takes place about three years after, being the sequel to it, but have recently had an idea I wanted to do for the time period right after The Areani. So now I have to decide if I want to just expand The Areani from its currently intended ending, or have another story after The Areani and before The Phoenix Rebellion. I'm leaning toward the latter, with The Areani: The Birth of a Rebellion being the tentative title. Guess we'll see how things go.
