After all, some things just aren't meant to be.

A/U: Callie Jacob did what she had to do to make sure that her little brother, Jude, got the best that he deserved. She made sure that they were no longer a package deal. After that she was just swallowed up by the worst the system had to offer until she landed with the Fosters.

I don't want to spoil it! A school shooting happens, and changes happen to the Fosters family.

Callie is the protector, always has been, but when her protective instincts cause a serious injury, she learns the hard way that she can't keep being the human shield. She has to trust someone else to keep everyone safe and trust is hard for her. AU from the pilot; the night does end very very badly, as Stef said it could have.

Starts at the end of I Do. BRALLIE! When Callie is ready to run away, but gets stopped before she can, where will this take their relationship? A lot better than the summary! I promise!

AN: added 10/31/2013... This story will explore the whole Foster family but will focus more on Brandon and Callie and Callie's relationships with Lena and Stef. Just my take on how the Fosters are growing and learning to live with each other and what happens if Brandon and Callie do want to date.

This is a total AU story of how the foster family came to be starting from before Lena and Stef met. This will just be a short story (10-15 chapters) picking some key moments in the Foster's lives that brings them together as a family. Once I finish this which I have a lot of it written already I will start on my Sequel to The Foster Rules.

Follows Callie's journey now that she has run away from home. Can the Fosters get her to return and face her demons, or does Callie have other plans? Rated T for language and violence. Please review!
