![]() Author has written 1 story for One Piece. I don't see any real significance to putting effort into your profile, so just know I see myself as a pretty chill dude, I get bored easily if I'm not interested in what I'm currently doing and I also procrastinate a little too much. I don't give a shit if you dislike anything I write and if by chance it somehow personally offended you then don't read it. Current Works I'm currently working on a couple of stories, but won't publish one until I've planned everything up to the time skip. Writing Tips In terms of writing I'm open to most stories, but I dislike Self-inserts as I don't want to read about the writer I want to read about the characters, and OC's most of the time, especially when they're related to the main character, as more often then not they're shitty self-inserts and are completely overpowered, and aren't written well either. If you flesh out the characters' backstory make them likable, give them motivations, and flaws they will probably turn out all right though. You don't have to trust my word but I suggest putting in a moderate, not too much or too little unless something is crucial to the story. Make sure you capture every aspect of a character and don't make them one-dimensional unless that's the point. Use proper formatting so it isn't confusing to read; use "this" for speaking, 'this' for thinking, italicize flashbacks, and if you're skipping time or changing location put a line threw the text and tell either how much time has past or the new location. Make sure to break apart your text into smaller chunks I personally find it really discouraging to read a massive chunk of text. Each line of dialogue should be a paragraph, don't have two people talking in the same paragraph, and change it up; don't just use he/she said, you can change to like the bored boy grumbled or whatever best fits the scene/characters. Also, make sure your chapters aren't too short nor too long, if they're too short they're either boring or confusing to follow. And if you're chapters are too long it gets boring to read. As for drawing people in, make sure you have a short and effective title, as well as an effective summary. For the title basically sum up what the story will be about in 1-3 words, while not making it sound stupid. For the summary go a bit more in-depth about your story, and keep it at the beginning of the story, as well as hooking the reader and making your story seem interesting. As for pairings, make sure it makes sense as to why they like each other, don't just throw you're 2 favorite characters together and call it a day, also I personally am not a big fan of incest and in my opinion you shouldn't attempt it unless you know what you're doing, and you can make it good, also incest lemons are even weirder and I'd steer clear of those unless it's within a bigger well-done story. If you're a write I suggest having a normal schedule to release chapters on, but if you know you can't make it a certain week for whatever reason, tell the people even if a lot of them don't read the author's note. Also if you're not in the proper mood to write don't force yourself or there will be a noticeable drop in quality. The final thing I will say is don't just leave a story unfinished without stating it, unless you die in real life, in that case, it's probably not your fault. That's all I feel like writing |
