![]() "I report stories and enforce the rules because if I don't, who will? You?" If you're reading this, then it's because of a review I left. I'm not sure if you're here to complain, threaten me, tell me to go away, defend the author, thank me, or whatever, but here's a quick FAQ so you don't ask me what's already been asked. Why did you report my story? I reported your story because it violated the rules. Why do you care if my story violates the rules? Because if I don't, who will? You certainly won't. This is the job of the admins not you. Incorrect. The admins gave us the power to report rule violating stories because they have better things to do than deal with it themselves. This isn't fair. Actually, everything I do is fair. You're a bully. No I am not. A bully would flame and treat you like crap with personal attacks. I'm enforcing the rules of the site and I'm rather impersonal about it. This is a violation of my First Amendment. If you use this excuse, it's clear that you have no idea what the First Amendment really means. The First Amendment lets you speak freely about your government. This is a privately owned site and thus, you must play by their rules. It's worth mentioning that the First Amendment is an American concept and this site has users from across the world, not to mention, this site's creator is from some part of Asia. I don't care about the rules. Good. Then you won't care about losing your story. You're just jealous. Truthfully I am rather jealous of the ignorant who use this excuse. Ignorance really is bliss. But other people did it! I'm well aware you aren't the only violator. Unfortunately, I can't get to everyone and I'm not omnipotent. I just happened to find you. But this story has been up for years! That just means no one has reported it. That doesn't mean it's free from the rules. Not to mention, sometimes reports take longer to go through and a story might stay up for well over a year after it's been reported. But everyone loves it! You'll be ruining it for them! Sadly, that isn't my concern. I'm only here for fun and the rules are too hard to follow. The rules aren't hard to follow nor do they take away the fun of fanfiction writing. Pretty much everyone is here for fun, you aren't different and you have to follow the rules with the rest of us. The rules are stupid/aren't important/aren't worth following. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. Truth be told it doesn't matter what the rules are; this is a privately owned site with its own rules. There can be a rule that says "no stories with the word 'hat' allowed" and we'd have to follow it if we want to post here. If you don't like it, find a new site. FF will die if it keeps this up. No it won't. Contrary to popular belief, the people who complain about the rules and break them are the minority. The site won't die if the rule breakers leave. Worst case scenario: the site loses a few thousand users. Given the mass number of users on this site, that's not much and remember this is the worst case scenario. I don't care. I'll keep doing whatever I was doing. Then your story and possibly account will be gone. Feel free to repost but finding you again won't be too hard. You have no life. Neither do you if you're telling me this. If there's anything not covered here feel free to ask me about it. However, I won't bother replying to messages filled with profanity and rage unless I see a spark of intelligence in it. Remember though, I'm not the bully here, nor am I in the wrong. People violate the rules, I report them. Simple as that. In case you were wondering... Yes this is an alternate account. My main one had a tendency to receive flame reviews and whatnot from angry rule violators. Some people have argued that if I'm doing this I should be prepared to deal with angry mobs. My reply is that I'm well prepared to deal with them but when they go flooding my review section with MA Miley Cyrus stories and F bombs with real accounts that I can't remove, then it becomes a problem for me and my readers. I am not affiliated with Critics United, Literate Union, Eliminators or Plagiarist Report. I'm not affiliated with any group for that matter. I have nothing against them or their methods, I find it great that they're an organized group, I simply don't feel like tying my name to a group. This is an alternate account after all. My community was made so I can keep track of all the rule violating stories I've found. It's also so anyone who enforces the rules like I do can report them as well. I will provide advice on how to fix a rule breaking story if asked, though I feel the best solution is to just take it down. You can ask me to report a rule breaking story you've found, but I recommend you just being it to one of the bigger groups listed above. Not only will they be more efficient, but I often go there to report rule breaking stories myself. |
