People Ross:Ross is a 13 year old boy who wants to enter the Kanto League. Ross is shown to be caring towards his friends, family and Pokémon when they are upset or in need of help. Ross has a strained relationship with his sister Ariel but they have their moments of kindness and not much is yet known about his relationship with his parents, who have moved to Sinnoh for research purposes. Ross also has three younger siblings who he seems to get along with as he gave his eldest younger brother Sam a Doduo he caught as it is his favourite Pokémon. Ross is shown to care deeply for his Pokemon as he does his best to encourage them even when the situation is practically hopeless and will even risk his own safety to help them without regard for his own well-being. Ross is also shown to have a somewhat crush on Brooklyn based on his behaviour during the Celadon Chateau and his reaction to seeing her in a bikini. Ross is currently aiming to compete in the Kanto League and has five out of the eight badges needed to qualify. Brooklyn:Brooklyn began the series by going to her uncles house to receive an unknown present and then met back up with Ross in Pewter city. Brooklyn is shown to have a crush on Ross as she often blushes when he compliments her. Brooklyn spent a part of the journey not knowing her goal but now aims to win the Battle Chateau circuit, having two medals out of the five that she needs to compete in the Grand Chateau Tournament. Misty:Misty was met by a lake on route one being harassed by team Rocket before Ross showed up and beat them. after a dinner and shopping, Misty decided to travel with Ross and help him grow stronger. Misty aims to win the Kanto Water Tournament circuit, having one of the four medals needed to enter the Splash Cup, and is currently a trainee Gym Leader for Cerulean City. Misty often acts as the grown up of the group but still acts like a kid when she wants to. Rivals Paul:Paul grew up with Ross and Brooklyn, the three of them being good friends until an argument between Ross and Paul spiralled out of control and the two needed up despising each other. Paul has proved himself to be a powerful trainer countless times, almost beating Ross twice with his powerful and diverse team. After Ross won their battle in Pewter City, Paul decided to become friends with Ross again and the two have gotten along nicely. Pokemon:Ivysaur, Spearow, Meowth, Poliwhirl, Beedrill, Rhyhorn, Hypno, Magby, Weepinbell Amy:Not much is known about Amy except she came from Hoenn to compete in the Kanto League and is quite strong, managing to collect four badges already and her Beldum tied with Pikachu, despite only knowing three moves. Amy will prove herself to be a strong rival while the group travels around Kanto. Pokemon:Beldum, Slowpoke Liam:Liam was introduced when the group went back to Pallet Town to celebrate Ross's birthday, taking part in a Pokemon camp run by Professor Oak and Ross and Liam were revealed to always be challenging each other to contests during their time together in school. When Ross and Liam had a battle to demonstrate training to some kids, Liam won against Pikachu using his powerful Lickitung and later against Brooklyn using a Totodile, a Pokemon from the Johto region where Liam was born before moving to Kanto. As Ross continues on his journey, Liam will prove to be a powerful rival during the League session. Pokemon:Lickitung, Umbreon, Totodile, Haunter Dylan:Dylan is a trainer who met Ross while he and Rauro were training on Cinnabar Island, battling the two with his Arcanine and winning, provoking Ross and Rauro to do some special training and learn Flame Charge, challenging Dylan and Arcanine to another battle but still losing. After the second battle was over Arcanine gave Ross a Fire Stone so he could evolve Rauro and be on equal footing with him and Dylan. despite not taking part in the league, Dylan will be a powerful opponent whenever he and Ross battle. Pokemon:Arcanine, Sneasel ???:Nothing is known about this rival except he will be a strong rival for both Ross and Brooklyn when they meet each other. Pokemon Squirtle: Squirtle was chosen by Ross to be his starter and the two seemed to immediately work well together. Squirtle has been shown to be stubborn when it comes to losing, evidenced by his. battles with Grovyle and Paul's Rhyhorn. Squirtle will continue to be a powerful asset to Ross's team as he continues on his journey. Received in Chapter 1:A Meeting of Faith! Pikachu:Pikachu was caught by Ross after he was caught eating electricity from the wires in his house. Although he put up a good fight, Pikachu was overpowered by Squirtle and joined Ross's team. Pikachu hates being inside his Pokéball so rides on Ross's shoulder and seems to enjoy being with his trainer. Pikachu has shown to be a powerful Pokémon despite his size, taking on and beating Will's Wartortle and Misty's Seadra and Vaporeon on separate occasions. Caught in Chapter 1:A Meeting of Faith! Butterfree: Butterfree was accidentally caught when Ross was searching for Pokémon in Viridian Forest but was welcomed to the team warmly despite that. Butterfree proved to be powerful from the start, displaying her strength. En route to Celadon City, Butterfree was welcomed into a bug type reserve run by a woman named Cassandra as the protector of a group of Caterpie. This meant Butterfree was separated from Ross and released, Ross promising to visit as often as he could during a tearful goodbye. Caught in Chapter 3: A Forest Challenge! Evolved in Chapter 3: A Forest Challenge! Evolved in Chapter 5:A Tournamental Surprise! Released in Chapter 31:Two Journeys, One Goodbye! Pidgeotto:Pidgeotto initially net Ross when she was attacked by a Fearow and it's gang of Spearow and Ross saved it. When Ross initially declined Pidgeotto joining his team, she followed him to Viridian Forest and challenged him to a battle where he caught her fairly. Since then Pidgeotto has shown her determination, Taking down powerful opponents like Scyther and Will's Onix. Caught in Chapter 4:New Arrivals and Buzzing Rivals! Charizard:Charizard made his debut as an egg that Ross received as a journey starting present from his cousin Casey. Charmander then hatched the day after Ross caught Pidgeotto and was immediately stuck to his trainer. Charmander has proven to be strong despite his young age, taking down Paul's Ivysaur, Dani's Clefable and Surge's Raichu after evolving. Charmeleon used to have issues controlling himslef when Blaze was active after evolving but partly overcame this problem when he evolved into Charizard battling Tom's Magmar Hatched/Captured in Chapter 4:New Arrivals and Buzzing Rivals! Evolved in Chapter 24:Through the Sparks and The Flames! Evolved In Chapter 48:Take Off Charmeleon! Bulbsaur:Bulbasaur was captured when Ross needed a sixth Pokemon for the Pewter Tournament and called on Bulbasaur, who he'd already bonded with before setting out on his journey, and she became a part of his team happily. She'll prove herself to be a strong nemeber of the team in coming chapters. Captured In Chapter 5:A Tournamental Surprise! Primeape:Primeape was caught in the wildlife surrounding Route 17 after being caught rifling through Ross's bag and decided to join him after seeing the strength Ross showed. Mankey soon became a useful Pokémon to Ross as he dealt heavy damage to Will's Wartortle and beat Paul's Weepinbell, evolving in the process. Captured in Chapter 11:A Lazy Day, A Double Catch! Evolved in Chapter 23:A Fierce Finale! Dratini: Dragonair was caught by Ross as a Dratini when she was thrown out of her resident lake into him by a Dragonair that Ross then help her to defeat. Dragonair has been revealed to be nervous around large crowds and has a habit of wrapping herself around Ross's arm or torso when she is first released. When she evolved, Dragonair became more confident in her abilities, even taking down Tom's Incineroar in her first gym battle since evolving. Captured in Chapter 13:Wrap Around The Armsie! Evolved in Chapter 46:The Flame-enco Twist! Eevee:Eevee was caught by Ross during a training day in Kimna Town when Eevee appeared to the group after making trouble for Brooklyn and Ross earlier in the morning. Eevee is revealed to love sweet food and being petted, also being able to hold her own in battle as she beat Will's Psyduck and holding her own against his Wartortle and Paul's Hypno. Captured in Chapter 16:A Stray Evolution! Krabby:Krabby was captured by Ross when he was fished up in a fishing contest in Vermilion City and latched onto his hand, showing off his gripping powewrs and was captured, battling Paul and his Shellder during the final round and won, further proving his strength and even more during Ross's battle against Erika when he battled her Weepinbell and put up a decent fight, despite the type disadvantage. Captured in Chapter 20:A Beach Day Brawl! Growlithe(Rauro):Rauro was met long before Ross started his journey, being a family pet gotten after Ariel got her starter, who eventually went with Ross's parents on their research expedition but became restless when he saw Ross battle in the Vermilion Tournament, prompting Ross's parents to give him to Ross in order to let Rauro grow. Rauro has been shown to be selfless when battling, to the point where he berates himself for losing in Ross's gym battle against Erika, despite taking out two of her Pokemon and weakening his third opponent. Rauro recently became rivals with an Arcanine owned by Dylan , a trainer Ross met while training on Cinnabar Island but lost both times he and Rauro challenged the duo, vowing to become stronger and beat them one day. Joined in Chapter 24:Through The Sparks And The Flames! Snorlax:Snorlax was caught by Ross when he blocked the groups path towards Celadon city, battling Ross easily despite the 3-1 disadvantage but was saved by the group when a missed Tackle attack caused him to almost fall off a cliff, later saving Ross when he fell off the same cliff and was caught in he process. Snorlax mostly stays at Professor Oak's lab due to the large amount of food he eats but is shown to have tremendous power when he and Ross battled against Will and his Nidoking. Captured in Chapter 32:A Sleepy Powerhouse! Hitmonchan:Hitmonchan was caught by Ross's parents on their research site and given to Ross as a birthday present. despite his short time on the team, Hitmonchan has made a lasting impression as a nimble fighter and a Pokemon who doesn't like giving up, even if it's only a training battle. Joined in Chapter 38:Brother Vs Sister! A Family Duel! Lapras:Lapras joined Ross's team when the group were training on Cinnabar Island for Ross's gym battle and was spotted by Misty, who tried to capture it despite Lapras not fighting back. Seeing the timid nature of the Pokémon, Ross fought back against Misty and was successful until she brought out her Tentacool and Goldeen, the two quickly overpowering Squirtle and Lapras jumped in, beating both Pokémon and joining Ross's team shortly after. Lapras hasn't had a chance to show off in battle yet but has shown some impressive moves such as Avalanche and Psychic. Captured in Chapter 43:The Race For Lapras! |
