Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

"If I've harmed her?" He seethed, snaking into Harry's space, his voice dropping to a menacing hiss. "She comes to me crying and you have the nerve to question how I've treated her?"

After a particularly messy breakup, Hermione throws caution to the wind and volunteers to do a bit of nude modelling for a Muggle art class. As you do. It's all fine and dandy, until she learns her sworn enemy is one of the students.

Hermione comes up with a charm that allows 'bonded soul' matches, something that has been unheard of for generations. What will Hermione do when her own magic matches her with Draco Malfoy? Hermione accidentally lets slip what she smells when she smells amortentia in Potions class in 6th year. Draco Malfoy is incredibly amused and proceeds to make her as uncomfortable as possible. All the while Ron is very confused, and Harry is entirely oblivious.

Hermione tugged at the string holding the hood onto the boy's head, gingerly pulling the fabric back to reveal his face. Lying before her, barely recognizable beyond the swelling and the blood, but still very much himself, was Draco Malfoy.
