![]() Favorite Characters: Glee- Santana Lopez Once Upon A Time- Regina Mills, Red Riding Hood, Mulan Pretty Little Liars- Emily Fields Favorite Movies: I Can't Think Straight: If you haven't seen this movie, GO WATCH IT NOW! Two of my favorite actresses Sheetal Sheth and Lisa Ray. In the upper echelons of traditional Middle Eastern society, Palestinians Reema and Omar prepare for the marriage of their daughter Tala to Hani in Jordan. But back at work in London, Tala encounters Leyla, a young British Indian woman who is dating Tala's best friend Ali. Tala sees something unique in the artless, clumsy, sensitive Leyla who secretly works to become a writer. And Tala's forthright challenges to Leyla's beliefs begins a journey of self-awareness for Leyla. As the women fall in love, Tala's own sense of duty and cultural restraint cause her to pull away from Leyla and fly back to Jordan where the preparations for an ostentatious wedding are well under way. As family members descend and the wedding day approaches, the pressure mounts until Tala finally cracks and extricates herself. Back in London, Leyla is heartbroken but learns to break free of her own self-doubt and her mother's expectations, ditching Ali and being honest with her parents about her sexuality. When Ali and Leyla's feisty sister Yasmin help throw Tala and Leyla together again, Tala finds that her own preconceptions of what love can be is the final hurdle she must jump to win Leyla back. Saving Face: Two of my favorite actresses, Michelle Krusiec and Lynn Chen. Saving Face follows Wilhelmina ("Wil"), a young Chinese American surgeon, as she deals with her unwed mother's pregnancy, and the obligations of her dancer girlfriend Vivian. Wil struggles with allocating time between her mother (Gao) who is shunned by the Chinese American community ofFlushing for being pregnant and unwed and thus has come to live with Wil. Wil first meets Vivian at a party in a restaurant called Planet China, in which many Chinese friends gather. Gao convinces her to attend in the hopes of setting Wil up with the son of her friend. Wil however, is immediately attracted to Vivian instead. Wil meets Vivian again at the hospital in which Wil worked. Meanwhile, Gao decides to move in with Wil after learning of her own pregnancy. Gao is shunned by her family due to the fact that she is unmarried with child. She was told to only come back home once she marries. Despite many questions, She refuses to reveal the father's identity. Vivian invites Wil to one of her dance shows with a letter left on the vending machine. After the show, the two hang out. Vivian reveals the fact that they had met once before when they were 8 and 9 years old; Vivian kissed Wil on the nose after Wil rescues her from her buillies, and that Wil ran away afterwards. Vivian and Wil later goes to Vivian's house, and the two share a kiss on the floor. The couple then goes on several dates. Wil is afraid of kissing Vivian in public. Vivian's birthday however, Wil gets held late due to a number of surgeries and attempts to redeem herself by spending the night at Vivian's house. Vivian reveals that she had informed her own mother of the relationship between them. Meanwhile, Gao goes on several dates in order to find a man to father her child. She is uninterested in all the men she meets. She is debating on whether or not to accept the affections of Cho, one of the men whom had liked her for 15 years and is willing to father the child as his own. Upon Vivian's wishes, Wil presents Vivian to her mother as a friend so that they can meet. The three share an awkward dinner. It is revealed that her mother knows of her homosexuality, but is in denial of it. Later, Vivian reveals to Wil that she was accepted into a ballet program in Paris and is debating about whether or not to accept the offer. Unable to admit her feelings and be selfish, Wil congratulates Vivian and gives her encouragement to accept the offer. While Vivian still debates on the offer, Vivian's father speaks to Wil and talks her into convincing Vivian to accept the offer. Wil then ignores Vivian for the next couple of days and then breaks up with her, knowing taking the offer is best for Vivian's career. Gao finally decides to accept the marriage proposal from Cho. At the wedding, Wil interrupts with a love note from the father of the child saying how much he loves her and want to marry her despite their large age gap. It is revealed that Wil's mother refuses to admit his identity due to the fact that he is the son of one of Wil's mother's friends, and is a generation younger than her. After realizing that love dominates over societal expectations, Wil immediately rushes to the airport to Vivian. Wil apologizes, and Vivian challenges Wil to kiss her to prove her sincerity, despite there being other people around. Wil is still afraid and Vivian leaves and gets on the plane for Paris. Three months after, Wil goes to another party at Planet China. Wil's mother once again does this as an attempt to set her up, but this time, the person she sets her up with is Vivian. Wil finally finds courage and kisses Vivian in front of her family friends at the centre of the dance floor. Imagine Me & You: The film opens on Rachel (Piper Perabo) and Hector's (Matthew Goode) wedding day in North London, England. Rachel's bossy and overbearing mother, Tess (Celia Imrie), is in charge, and dazed dad Ned (Anthony Head) and Rachel's much younger sister Henrietta are supportive. Prior to Rachel arriving and the ceremony beginning, Tess introduces flower shop owner Luce (Lena Headey), who was contracted by Tess as thewedding florist, to her husband and Henrietta. Luce tells Henrietta something that makes Henrietta take an immediate liking to her, and she asks if Luce can sit by her during the wedding. As they await arrival of the bride, Henrietta confides to Luce that she is nicknamed "H" because, supposedly, her mother exclaimed "Jesus H. Christ!" upon discovering she was pregnant. Rachel arrives and the ceremony begins, but as she is walking up the aisle with her father, her eyes meet Luce's for a fleeting moment, and a connection is made. Rachel looks away, then quickly back, but Luce is gone. At the reception afterwards, Luce, previously unknown to her, introduces herself to Rachel. She then impresses Rachel when she fishes Rachel's accidentally-dropped wedding ring out of the punchbowl. Some time later, Luce is invited to dinner with Rachel, Heck, and, unknown to Luce, Cooper "Coop" (Darren Boyd), Heck's best friend, a perennial bachelor and self-professed Lothario. Rachel has planned to set up Luce with Coop, while Luce confides to Heck (only) that she's a lesbian. Heck takes this news in stride and is bemused as Coop is undeterred in his attempts to seduce Luce. During the meal, when Coop starts bragging, Luce espouses she believes in love-at-first sight, while Rachel says it takes time to time find the right person. The next day while grocery shopping Heck and Rachel run into Luce and a woman friend. Heck then tells Rachel that Luce is gay. Heck inquires as to the relationship of Luce and her friend, but they assure Rachel and him that nothing is going on. The friend says Luce 'loves another.' While Heck works long hours at his increasingly unsatisfying office job, he encourages Rachel to be friends with Luce. The two spend an evening together, visiting a football match and an arcade, which becomes the setting for a Dance Dance Revolution sequence. At the end of the night, Luce walks Rachel back to her flat. Their goodbye grows awkward from tension, then Rachel leans forward to kiss Luce, but withdraws at the last moment and goes inside her home. Over the next few days, Rachel continues to resist her growing attraction to Luce in an effort to remain loyal to Heck. For her part, Luce has no wish to break up a committed couple. Unable to deny what she is feeling, Rachel eventually confronts Luce directly at her flower shop. She tells Luce that a romance between them cannot happen, turns to leave, and returns seconds later to kiss Luce in the back of Luce's shop. Their foreplay gets interrupted by Heck, who has stopped by to pick up flowers for Rachel. He tells Luce that he has sensed the distance growing between him and Rachel and partially blames himself for not being there for her. Hearing this, Rachel runs off, later sorrowfully agreeing with Luce that they can't betray Heck. In the meantime, Heck reaches his breaking point at his job and finally quits. When he returns home drunk, Rachel rashly confesses all to him as he sleeps, but without saying who her love is. Heck, who was actually feigning sleep, later calls Coop for support. Coop angrily confronts Luce after figuring out it was her with whom Rachel fell in love. Luce decides that being near Rachel without being with her is too hard. She makes plans to go on an extended trip out of the country, leaving care of her shop to her mother. While Rachel and Heck are celebrating her birthday at her parents', "H" tells them about Luce's trip. Heck notices Rachel's reaction to the news and figures out that it was Luce with whom Rachel fell in love. Heck does not want to be her second choice or to live a lie, but does want her to be happy, so he leaves. Rachel then confesses to her parents that she is in love with a woman and, with their help, she tracks down Luce, who has already taken a taxi to the airport. Rachel gets stuck in traffic and tries to call Luce, who ignores her, and all seems lost. However, Rachel realizes Luce is in the same traffic jam and uses the lessons Luce taught her at the football match about how to yell loudly to call to her. The two women reunite and kiss each other in the middle of a crowded London street. As the ending credits roll, we see the characters some time later. Heck is on a plane to an unknown destination, all set to write his travel book, when he discovers a young woman (Angel Coulby) will be sitting next to him for the long flight. There is an obvious and immediate attraction, and nervous flirtation, between them. The scenes continue with "H" and her young boyfriend playing at a playground, Coop holding a baby, and Luce and Rachel enjoying each other's company. I also love Asian Horror Movies!
