Anime I Like

Monster (Just a brilliant anime. If you like a good mystery, adventure and crime-thriller, you'll love this.)

Hetalia (So silly and politically incorrect.)

Hellsing Ultimate (Eat your sparkly heart out Twilight. THESE are vampires!)

Dragonball Z (Not the overly kid-friendly version on Nicklelodeon, the Toonami version. My very first anime.)

Ouran Highschool Host Club (SO FUNNY! And I love Haruhi.)

FLCL (Unique characters, awesome music and just a fun time.)

Trigun (Classic.)

The Devil is a Part-Timer (A relaxing comedy to kick back to.)

Attack on Titan (Okay, so it's not free from anime cliches and I think it is pretty over-hyped, but it's still one of the most epic anime I have seen in a while and I would love to get the manga. And it also kills my feels big time.)

Puella Magi Madoka Magica (God, right in the FEELS! Just, aw man...)

Favorite Anime/Manga Characters In Random Order

Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z (My very first favorite anime character who planted the seed of my love for the antihero.)

Alucard from Hellsing (Vampire badass who wields epic gun. WIN.)

Seras Victoria from Hellsing (In a gory series like Hellsing, we need some of that comic relief both she and Pip provide.)

Russia from Hetalia (Who does Hidezaki think he is to make a yandere so cute and and endearing while still being menacing and unintentionally cruel? AND to add the tragic history/background?! Madness I tell you, MADNESS!)

Prussia from Hetalia (This guy is the hammiest of a series filled to the brim with hams! Why does Prussia get the Hammy award? He technically does not exist anymore and yet he still has the biggest personality! And his catchphrase 'I am awesome' is contagious as hell!)

America from Hetalia (Yes, he's childish, loud, arrogant, annoying, he's almost always eating something and he's possibly insane. But he's also brave, caring, optimistic, well-meaning, adventurous, and he is very intelligent in several fields. Not that bad of a representation for my homeland.)

Belarus from Hetalia (Hey, somebody's gotta put Russia in his place and it happens to be his equally, if not more psychotic little sister who loves her brother a little too much *Insert Understatement of the Century*. Anyone who can make a full grown Russia shiver with fear earns props in my book. And at least his reactions to her advances are correct, not to mention hilarious. And when she's not stalking him or demanding marriage, they get along pretty well. And it's sweet when they do.)

Ukraine from Hetalia (She pretty balances out the insanity of her younger siblings. Not to mention that she is absolutely sweet and adorable...with 'bountiful lands'.)

Gintoki Sakata from Gintama (I haven't seen the anime, to my dismay, but I love the manga. Gin is immature, apathetic, kinda stupid, sometimes insane and has an addiction to sweets, which has him bordering on diabetes and therefore forcing him to limit his beloved parfaits. Nonetheless, he protects those he cares about and always does the right thing, even if it costs him his life.)

Vash the Stampede from Trigun (The epitome of a lovable loser. Gotta love Vash.)

Death the Kid from Soul Eater (It's not one of my favorite anime, but it's pretty decent. Kid is one of my favorite parts of the show, if not my number one favorite part. He's the son of Death, one of the most talented Reapers, intelligent, has neat toys, and sports an awesome suit. His greatest flaw however is his obsession with symmetry, and this tends to have a poor effect on his missions.)

Haruhi Fujioka from Ouran High School Host Club (A tomboyish, working class girl who gains a scholarship to the elite Ouran Academy is forced to work at the Host Club as a boy. Her deadpan snarkiness, her compassion and her down to Earth personality prove that a strong female lead does not have to be a violent, full-blown tsundere. Do you hear me Zuka Club!?)

Kohta Hirano from High School of the Dead (Okay, if you have a huge hatred of fanservice, you probably won't like this one. But it does have zombies and adorkable Hirano is one of the team's most valuable assets. Trained by top-notch marines with a vast knowledge of firearms, sweet, nerdy Kohta can turn into a trigger-happy and insane badass in a matter of seconds.)

Seeichiro Kitano from Angel Densetsu (This teenager has a horrifying face, often accused of being a junkie, a demon and even the Devil himself. And it might have been true if the guy wasn't one of the sweetest people to walk on this planet! His misadventures are hilarious and the heartwarming scenes are wonderful.)

Jean Kirstein from Attack on Titan (He's had the most character development on the show thus far.)

Guts from Berserk (Everything about this guy is badass. When I think badass character, I think Guts. His name is GUTS. That's seriously... a bit gross, BUT badass all the same.)

Movies I Like

Fargo (Just a great story and a wonderful, unique heroine)

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (A fun, macabre time with great music. Definitely a cult classic)

The Exorcist (The first movie to leave me feeling genuinely frightened and disturbed and follows the book very closely, always a plus in my opinion)

Spirited Away (A beautiful, original coming-of-age story)

Pulp Fiction (A wild ride with surprisingly believable and charismatic characters)

Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2 (Action packed with a unique story done right)

The Castle in the Sky (Beautiful. That is all)

Inglorious Bastards (Is it Tarantino's masterpiece? Not really, but it's fun and it's nice to see the most persecuted group fight back against the Nazis)

Wolf Children (Dammit, the feels)

The Naruto Moments That Give Me the Feels, Good Feels Or Bad (No Specific Order, chronological or otherwise. !Beware of Spoilers!)

Yes, I know this anime is overrated as all hell, but it's like my junk food of anime. I still angst over the lack of Monster like nobody's business.*

The deaths of Haku and Zabuza in the Land of Waves Arc. (This is the first big arc of the show, and it still gets to me! Zabuza DID care about Haku, despite claiming he only saw him as a tool until Naruto emotionally falcon-punched through his defenses. In his final moments, lying next to an already deceased Haku, he said he wished he could join him in Heaven. *Sniff*)

This is more of a general idea that is both sad and f*kin' scary. Look, we all know Gaara's childhood sucked. It sucked so bad that even referring it as a childhood is debatable, and if you're a fan of the Sand Siblings like myself, you figure that Temari and Kankuro's childhoods were not much better, especially considering that they only really met their baby brother AFTER he turned into a sociopath and let Shukaku loose and they were (likely) forced to be on the same squad as him. But here's the thing; people have talked about how Granny Chiyo mentioned that the third child of the Fourth Kazekage was the only one compatible with Shukaku, the One-Tails and what that means. That third child is obviously Gaara, but that means that he, Temari, and Kankuro were possibly conceived for the sole purpose of becoming a jinchuuriki and used as a weapon. Here's the catcher: if Kankuro was compatible and Temari was not, Gaara would have never been conceived. If Temari had been compatible, neither of her brothers would have conceived. Why? Because their mother Karura had DIED because of the complications caused by having Shukaku being sealed into her unborn son, which caused Gaara to be born prematurely. So in other words, if Temari or Kankuro had been compatible, Gaara would have never been born, and the fact that they were all conceived in hopes of one of them becoming a weapon for Suna is just horrible.

Things That Really Bug Me:

Anyone who is WAY too politically correct (Left-wingers, Right-wingers, doesn't make a difference.)

People who start shipping wars (If you hate a pairing, feel free to express your opinion. But don't tell someone they are the scum of the earth for liking a fanmade or canon pairing between fictional characters and vice versa.)

People who shove their beliefs down your throat. (Again, you're free to express yourself. But don't go and force someone to agree with you.)

Bible-thumping hypocrites. (No, not all Christians are Bible-thumping hypocrites .)

People who threaten you if you don't like what they like. (Explains itself.)

'Feminists' who actually preach sexism against men for simply being men and shame women who see right through their lies. (It's called misandry, Feminazis. You are a sexist if you promote hatred towards a gender.)

When people say 'It is what it is'. (WELL, WHAT IS IT?)

When people start political arguments on music videos. (I know that politics should be discussed, but do it with someone face to face and be respectful. I mean, I'm just sitting here, enjoying 'Amerika' by Rammstein or 'Money Talks' by AC/DC on youtube, rocking out, not bothering anyone, and some asshole has to either insult something or someone, be it capitalism, communism, Germany, America and so on. Come on people. I know you have the right, but calm down and just enjoy the music.)

Pseudo-Cynics who don't care about what is going next door, much less in their country and the world. (Listen, I can be cynical. Very cynical. I won't deny that. And I know there are certain situations that people shouldn't stick their noses in *Cough* Looking At You America *Cough*. But Christ, care about something! It doesn't make you weak or a hippie, it makes you human!)

Any sort of extremist. (Again, should explain itself)

When people use 'virgin' as an insult. But then they sometimes turn around and call that same person a slut if that person says they're not *HYPOCRISY ALERT*. (Seriously, the best thing to do if you ever get that 'insult' is to brush it off. Honestly, what does somebody's sex life have to do with an opinion unrelated to the subject. Look, if they're not harming anyone *And yes, cheating counts as harm* what is the big deal? Can't win with some people, whether you are considered a prude or a hussy.)

People who think they're something special simply for listening to the 'right' kind of music, whatever genre or band it is. (If you like a band, fine by me, man. Enjoy your music. But if liking certain bands makes you think you're somehow superior to everybody else, I guess there's really nothing else to you if THAT is your only defining characteristic.)

People who complain endlessly when a series doesn't end the way they wanted it to. (It's fine to be disappointed. Hell, it's fine to be pissed off. But when it all comes down to it, life will not always go way you want it to, especially if it doesn't include fanon. You don't have to like it, but take it with some dignity and a pinch of salt, man!! And if you're screaming like a toddler who just soiled their pull ups as they dropped their apple juice over a certain character's new hairdo, well, I dunno what to say about that.)

People who call a character 'emo' when that character has a pretty good reason to feel a little down in the dumps. (Look, sometimes it can be valid if it's bumped up to eleven. Trust me, I know and I agree some characters are that bad. But let's say if your father scarred and disowned you for wanting peace and objecting war, causing you to abandon those values for his approval, or you had a demon sealed inside of you while you were still in your mother's womb, causing your hometown to fear and hate you and the one person you thought truly cared about you told you it was a lie and that no one ever loved you and never will before trying to kill you when you were at the ripe old age of six, breaking your heart and your mind, you're allowed to shed a tear or two.)

People who act self-righteous and claim to be fighting for the cause of a repressed group and are unimaginably rude to everyone and send death threats, including to some of the people they say they're defending, thus causing further prejudice! (That REALLY rubs me the the wrong.)

When people say 'If you like/dislike/don't know X, you're not a true fan'. (Pardon me, but when did you decide that your shit doesn't stink because of such nonsense? If you like a band, a show or a book series enough to keep yourself fairly updated, buy things, and possibly create tributes to it (drawings, cosplay, merchandise, whatever), you're a fan. How big a fan you are depends on you, but you're a fan nonetheless.)

Ramblings

Hey!

Can someone direct me to any good Russia fanfictions, as in he is the main character or, at the very least, an important character? There is just a few rules they must follow:

-Acceptable-

Most pairings with two exceptions, but there doesn't need to be pairings/romance.

All ratings.

All genres.

Cruelty is okay as long as it is childish and he is unaware of it (Shenanigans did a great job with that concept, so read that for reference and because it is awesome).

-Unacceptable-

No shota or incest, please.

Russia cannot be a complete sadist nor can he be, God forbid, a rapist.

He cannot be portrayed in an excessively negative light (By that, I don't want to read him as this cruel, merciless dictator or a complete douchebag for a couple of examples, so really, nothing extreme).

So, if anyone knows a fanfiction that applies to these pretty general rules, please let me know! :)

My Thoughts on Hetalia Shipping Wars

Since I am sort of part of the fandom, I decided I should put in my two cents in the whole thing. First of all, shipping wars are fruitless. There is no point to them. There are very few canon pairings (if any at all) in the actual show that is Hetalia, which I really see as a bromance with some (depending on the episode, maybe a lot of) innuendos. Here are my reasons why shipping wars are just not cool and completely useless.

1. They seem just to be pissing contests between people who cannot stand it when someone has a different opinion from their own.

2. The idea that other pairings get in the way of your favorite pairing is idiotic. They are fictional characters. (The countries are real, but the characters representing them are fictional.) For example, one of my favorite pairings is RusAme. I'm not threatened by USUK or RoChu. In fact, I've read some really good USUK and RoChu stories. Not my favorite pairings, but the stories are good.

3. People might get offended when others comment on their stories or, saying something along the lines of 'I'm not fond of *insert pairing* but this is awesome.' To an extent, I do understand why you may be offended by such a comment because it seems unnecessary. But I say look at that comment in a different light. They are telling you that your piece of art here, whether it be made of words or colors, is so fantastic, so well done, that despite not liking your pairing, they appreciate your creativity and your skills. If you answer back with the same positive slant, it might even loosen some of that silly tension created by certain, loud, rude people who go around picking on others. Relish in it, because I think that may be the best compliment you could ever get.

4. It's not the end of the world when someone doesn't agree with you. You can gladly tell me that you don't like RusAme and why, but please don't shove your opinions down my throat because I would not do that to you. I am aware of what's going with the real countries, particularly Russia and Ukraine. Hell, I included it in a college essay, criticizing both governments for their roles in the matter. The fact is that Hetalia is a fictional show and while it does sometimes show historical accuracy, it's mainly about a bunch of dorks from multiple cultures living their lives. It's a weird, silly show and shouldn't be taken so seriously. Why so serious...?

5. If someone doesn't ship anything and doesn't like the idea of it, leave them alone.

6. This is based on a small discussion with a fellow author: Not every story based on Hetalia has to be yaoi. The show Hetalia isn't really yaoi, though it is categorized under fanservice. My story isn't yaoi. If you've been paying attention, I love RusAme. It's a guilty pleasure. You are not committing a mortal sin for wanting to write something different. Go for it man! Power to the people!

I guess that's all I have to say about that for now.

Does Not Liking A Character From Hetalia Make You Racist or Xenophobic?

I see this occasionally when someone says 'I don't like Russia, he's scary', 'God, America is so annoying' or 'I hate Turkey, he's a dick' for a couple of (random) examples and someone else accuses them of racism or xenophobia. The answer is actually quite simple: no. That person just doesn't like how the character is written. It shouldn't be seen as a reflection of the person's feelings towards the REAL country, as in REAL life. Hetalia is certainly not real.

As a side note: Hetalia is also not a replacement for your history book. Sorry kids, you're still going to have to read Chapter 5 for Tuesday. Unless that pop quiz's answers include 'PASTA!!', 'I'm the hero!', 'I am awesome!!!' and 'Become one, da?' all under the same question that consists of 'What do you say when Britain goes in for a sneak attack!?'.

Why Netflix, Why!?? (Very Short Whining Session)

Why didn't you put Naoki Urasawa's Monster back up yet?! I love that anime! Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, put it back up!

Ultimate Motivational Song

If you wake up one day and you feel like you just can't do it, listen to the A-Team theme song and you will know that, f*ck yeah, YOU CAN DO IT!!

Men are NOT all pigs

Now, I understand that there are some horrible men in the world. There are also horrible women in the world. In short, there are horrible people this world. I really hate this misandrist idea that all men are these horrible beings and all women are innocent, frail victims. NOT ALL MEN ARE SCUM WHO WANT TO HURT WOMEN AND CHILDREN! This Western, extremist view is the exact same ideology that misogynists have for the female gender, only reversed. Are there unfair, gender-biased double-standards? Yes, but they don't only target women.

Maybe this rant is partly due to the fact that the one of the people who had taught me to be strong, to work hard, that told me I can do anything I put my mind to, who raised and loved me as one of his own, happened to be a man, who sadly passed away last year. Equality is not about punishing someone simply because of their gender and spreading disgusting, unfair stereotypes. It's about two groups coming to a mutual understanding. It's about tolerance, compassion, honesty, knowledge, and the willingness to work together, hand in hand, as brothers and sisters, for a better world.

My last words to sexists of either gender about this comes from John Lennon's 'Instant Karma' (I do not own this in any shape or form nor do I profit from it):

Instant Karma's gonna get you

Gonna look you right in the face

Better get yourself together darlin'

Join the human race!

Another Very Short Whining Session

When is the second season of Attack on Titan gonna start!? Okay, like I said before, it's not perfect and it is over-hyped, but dammit, I am hooked!!!

Season 2... Hmmm

Okay, I like Attack on Titan, and I am excited for Season 2 next year, but now I'm a little worried that, like in a lot of anime, the quality may go down. Yeah, Season 1 pulled some things out of its ass, but it still kept me entertained and fortunately, Netflix is getting some decent anime back on (but no Monster. WHY!?) But like I said before, I'm excited, and yet a little worried.

PSAs: Truth, or Simply Horror?

Now, I have nothing against informing the public on a serious issue (drugs, abuse, ect.) But do some PSAs go too far? Do they seem to scare us more than they actually inform us? Some PSAs are simply offensive even though the creator may have the best intentions. One for example, a young girl is being harassed by two stereotypical Alpha Bitches. They knock her things down and they are putting their hands on her. This PSA was supposed to tell kids to stand up to each other, which is a good message. But there are a few things that I have a problem with. First of all, where are the teachers? This is not a subtle display of bullying, and I remember in my highschool, there were teachers and staff in the hall, making sure everything is in order. Wouldn't they go to assist the victim and discipline the perpetrators? Second, why doesn't the victim fight back? Now, I'm not trying to to be insensitive. Hell, I was bullied myself. But not to this extent. And everyone reacts differently. But I believe that if you feel like your well being is threatened, if someone is putting their hands on you and you don't like it, you have every right to defend yourself. This is another problem I have with Bullying PSAs: they make it so the victim can't or shouldn't defend themselves. I can say most, if not all of us, have been bullied at one point in our lives and it does not have to be at school. You should stand up for others, but you also have the right to stand up for yourself.

Gotta Wonder...

Am I one of the few Hetalia fans that does not dislike any character enough to make them out to an absolutely horrible person? I don't hate any character. At worst, I'm neutral, kinda like Switzerland.

All Victims Are Important (Please take the time to read all of this)

Many are starting to see and care about the double standards when men are sexually harassed and assaulted. That's a really good thing. All victims should be treated equally. But due to a controversy currently being debated and discussed on youtube, I have seen some rather disturbing comments by a few people. Not many, thank God, but I still can't help but feel the need to say this, since I know someone was abused in such a way. Yes, it's the Sam Pepper issue, but we're not talking about that, really because I feel I still don't know enough about it to lend a voice on that subject. But what I have seen is people criticizing those upset about these allegations by commenting 'Well, if it were a man, no one would care.' Sadly, there is a bit of truth in there. But what kind of bothers me is that is they appear to be implying that women being sexually harassed is old news and shouldn't be bothered with. I could be dead wrong about this, mind you. I could be reading these in a completely incorrect context. If I am, I sincerely apologize. But let me say this:

All victims are important.

Rape is rape. Your gender does not matter, regarding the victims and the perpetrators.

This isn't coming from feminism, white-knighting, or what have you. This is coming from a human being. That's all.

Give The Ladies of Hetalia A Break

You're allowed to not like a character. That's a given. But please, come up with a better reason other than she's a woman. Because if the only thing or the main thing you hate about a character is their gender, then that is just sad.

Sometimes...

Sometimes I'd rather be a potato than a person. What? Potatoes have it much easier.

Writer's Block

The deadliest condition that can be inflicted upon a writer. *Sighs Sadly*

You Know What Sucks?

You are inspired by some pretty good fanfiction and have had an interest to write a story with alien invasions, post-apocalyptic earth, dystopian futures or a zombie takeover. Then you not only feel pressure to keep plot holes to a minimum and keep it at least somewhat original, you remember you're already working a story with a similarly ludicrous plot, not to mentions OCs which is above all other forms of idiocy, that you want to see to the end first. And you could be making something of your own, an ORIGINAL STORY. It sucks to be a writer sometimes. -_-

You Know Who Is an Awesome Character?

Severus Snape from Harry Potter. If you hate him, it's justified, because he is a major prick to Harry and co. for such petty reasons and a hypocrite. If you like him, it's justified because of his true allegiance and he has some of the best scenes. He is just so wonderfully complex. (That and he was a really cute teen.)

Why Do I Like Hetalia?

Because sometimes the decisions made by the real countries impales my faith in humanity. Hetalia is a escapism. (That and kitten videos.)

Stupid Angst

I want Monster back...where can I get a DVD set???!!!!!

If You Like Something...

Then that's what you like. That is all.

A 2015 Resolution We ALL Should Consider

Don't be a dick.
