My original idea was a sad story with absolutely no lemons. I was inspired by a song and a plot bunny to write that one. I wasn't going to write it, because it was too sad, but then I did anyway. It should be in my stories, and it's called "Two Hundred Years of Solitude." My apologies to Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but once I figured out how to write a whole sequel within the title I couldn't resist. The main point to that story is that I just see what happens if they have their original birthdays and Edward lives. and lives. Then the tragic aspect of that made me so sad I needed to make it up to them, so I modified the premise let Edward keep his birthday and cheated Bella's birthday back 50 years, because that's how long my awesome grandparents were married before Grandpa died. See? I'm not so bad. So anyway, the age difference for Bella and Edward in "You don't know me" was supposed to be more like Jane and Roger in Mad Men (awesome show btw, and sort of sets the tone for the time period) or even like Bogart and Bacall in real life. It is a significant difference, but they're both adults. And if you are concerned about age difference WITH vamps, I... uh, have no idea what to say to that. I'm pretty sure legal statutes don't apply to mythological creatures. |
