My own version of what would happen after the Malec breakup

Falling in love with half a person creates a whole of a problem. And just because you have superpowers doesn't mean you're not an idiot. Or, how Ladybug and Cat Noir discover their civilian identities, and how Marinette and Adrien start dating.

This story is based on the following head canon: Before he dies, Alec gets Catarina to magic up a rose that's the exact color of his eyes. He gives it to Magnus saying, "This way I'll know that one hundred years from now, you'll still know exactly what color my eyes were." When Magnus has trouble remembering details about Alec, he gets the rose out and stares at it for hours on end

An angsty fanfiction, which takes place after the Malec breakup. It follows Alec, who is stuck in a pit of self-loathing after considering Camille's offer to take away Magnus's immortality. He starts self-harming as a result. But how long could he keep his secret?

So far, he has failed to do so...but what happens when she retaliates? All the world- including Downworlders- are watching Alec crash. Magnus will be forced to see the monster Alec is becoming, yet will he save Alec after Alec's betrayal?

Alec just can't take it anymore, Magnus finds that without him life's not worth living. Undoubtedly the most depressing thing I've written to date. Rated T for suicide/depression. **Trigger warning: suicide**
