![]() Hey guys- MistiFlare here. I’ve been on this site a good couple years now (though I know this is very little compared to some...), yet basically only to read fanfiction. I tried writing some kind of fluffy one shot ages ago, then deleted it, but I thought it was high time to try again. So, here goes... My name is April, and I’m from the UK. Some “interesting” facts about me... my favourite colour is purple? I’m a proud Hufflepuff? I write my own novel in my free time? Not too interesting... I love to read and- obviously- write, as well as draw, for fun, and my favourite series are Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and the Rosewood Chronicles- a new series only two books in but amazing! I think my main focus on here will be Harry Potter, but who knows... I have a few odd quirks and mannerisms about me, and a few things I find to be key when writing a fan fiction. In regards to the former, a few include chewing my bottom lip and tongue when I concentrate/ am nervous, as well as tapping my foot and knee, or silently clicking my fingers. Random, but true. I love nothing more that storms- although I don’t like lightning-, tea and books. As for the fan fiction rules I have; 1) Impeccable grammar. This is a given, and almost every story has this, but then you’ll get the occasional, couldn’t-be-bothered story that gives fanfic a bad rep. Fanfiction is often almost as good, as good as, or even better than original novels, and it annoys me to no end when this is broken. 2) Blatant copyright. When you can just tell a story has been stolen. Just ugh. Either read and enjoy someone else’s story, or make up your own... please don’t merge the two together. 3) This one should be less... ranty, but it’s just something I try to think about. Eloquence. In other words, trying not to make a story cringy-as-heck. I’m all up for a bit of angst, and sometimes it can be so, so hard to get something right, but it needs to flow. Finally, I just wanted to warn you that, as much as this irks me, I can not promise to have a regular update schedule. I am the most awful person when it comes to things like this. Abandoning stories for months to eternities, getting bored of things quickly, being too busy... so I’m so, SO sorry, but please don’t hate me if I abandon y’all for months. Also, I just wanted to say that whatever I end up writing, criticism is greatly valued and appreciated. As long as you aren’t rude or bullying about it, I will be so, SO thrilled if I get any at all. Thanks! Yours truly, April (MistiFlare) |
