![]() Author has written 4 stories for Naruto, and Harry Potter. It has been FOREVER since I actually read my own profile. Now I'm reading it, and wow. I appear to have been a bit of a moron at the time of last posting. Oops. My bad. Can't claim to have changed much, either. Bigger oops. I hope you can forgive me. Yo, you know those fics I cut all the juicy bits out of? Yeah, gonna fix that. I suspect there's still a chance they'll get deleted for being full of terrible, shameless porn, so do note the name of my Livejournal page: AvaScribbles. My meagre collection of finished fics is backed up there. You can find the page by searching for the name on Livejournal; I'm not even going to try to post a link here and hope it'll work. I hate my own work. A lot of writers do. You're welcome to hate it as well, but if you tell me about it, then you should tell me what's wrong with it, even if it's just an annoyingly oft-repeated phrase or an out-of-character moment. My friends who occasionally beta for me are good about threatening me with bodily harm if I repeat the same mistake too often, but they're just a few people with very specific pet peeves, so if I do something that doesn't tick them off particularly, then it'll likely never be brought to my attention unless a reader mentions it, so please do. On that note, I thrive on reviews even (sometimes especially) if they aren't heaped with praise. Knowing that someone reacted to my work enough to say something about it gives me the motivation to continue writing and improving. So please: If my characterization is off, tell me. If it's great, tell me. If you like the relationship dynamic I've shown, tell me. If you think it could have gone in a different direction, tell me. I want to hear your thoughts. It can only help me learn. This is why I write fanfic: to make me a better writer. My stories, if they ever do see the light of day, may be un-beta'd. This is partly because the friends I force to read my drivel have more of a life than I do and cannot always help me on time, but also because I have a pretty good grasp on the English language and I check my work obsessively before showing it to others. If I edit, it'll be for content. If you see typos or errors, please do call me on them. |
