![]() Author has written 25 stories for Harry Potter. Welcome to my profile! I’m PenguinBuddy, I'm in my early thirties, and I'm an archivist. I started writing stories on this site when I was fifteen, so I suppose that makes me a bit old amongst the fanfiction community. But I'm a hopeless romantic who loves cheesiness and therefore do not care. The Pottermore Sorting Hat declared me a Ravenclaw. Favorite books include: Harry Potter series, I Capture the Castle, Pride and Prejudice, Anne of Green Gables, the Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus series, The Guernsey Literacy and Potato Peel Pie Society, Ella Enchanted, the James Herriot books, and anything by Sharon Kay Penman. I appreciate any and all reviews that I receive and I almost always reply to signed reviews. It's the least I can do when people take the time to give me feedback on my stories. I have truly awesome readers. If you want a reply, please make sure that you have private messaging unblocked! Ask me questions about my writing, geek about the HP fandom, and such here: penguinbuddy23.tumblr.com. Story News... August 15th - Chapter 9 of The Name of the Game posted! August 12th - Grammatical edits to chapters of Game On and The Name of the Game. I have a "fake" pinterest account using Eva's name. If you're curious at all, "Eva's" board is user evawood1163. I don't mess with it very often, but it has some fun things on it (I think). I have some Lily/James oneshots in various states of completeness sitting in a word document...maybe I'll get around to working on one of them at some point. We'll see. The Game On Universe "All Sorts of Wrong" - a short story from James's point of view and takes places in James and Eva's sixth year, before "Game On" begins. "Game On" - a multi-chapter story told from the point of view of Eva Wood and follows her seventh year at Hogwarts. "The Tattoo" - a oneshot from James's point of view detailing the afternoon he got his Golden Snitch tattoo. "The Espionage Antics of James Potter and Fred Weasley" - a oneshot from James's point of view, in which he and Fred spy on Eva. "It Started in the Library" - a short story from Rose's point of view fleshing out the story of her early relationship with Scorpius. "The Name of the Game" - sequel to "Game On," a multi-chapter story from Eva's point of view following her early Quidditch career. "The Sand Dragon" - a oneshot from James's point of view, post-Hogwarts, depicting an afternoon at the seaside with Eva. "Just One of Those Things" - Really could have been plotted better. Or plotted at all. It had potential, that in my opinion, it did not live up to. But on the whole, not the worst thing I've ever written. Do read everything else, and enjoy! "Expected" is loosely based on real argument my best friend and her then-boyfriend (now husband) had about her being expected to sit by him in a particular incident at a bowling alley. I asked her permission to use the generic idea of things being expected and turn it into a oneshot. "Who Would You Marry" is based on real events that happened to a former co-worker when he was a kid. "Oh, Christmas Tree" was inspired by helping my dad put up our family Christmas tree and our utter inability to keep it from leaning to the left. I thought the idea transferred well to a Lily and James oneshot. The title of "In Pursuit of a Nap" came from one of my college roommates saying that would be that title of the chapter on college in her autobiography. "The Plan" is loosely inspired by my own attempts to ask out a guy I was interested in. He said no, but in retrospect it was definitely better that way. One of my favorite quotes..."She loved books. She loved them with her senses and her intellect. They way they looked and smelled; the way they felt in her hands; the way the pages seemed to murmur as she turned them." - Betty Smith Happy reading! :) |
