Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. I've been in and out of fanfiction for years. I started back before Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was published then left for awhile before coming back to focus on writing and reading Inuyasha fanfiction then leaving again. In an ideal world, I wouldn't be on this site right now, but I have a hard time staying away from fanfiction. It is a pleasant distraction from all of the math that I surround myself with. If you haven't figured out I'm a mathematics major, and I'm trying to decided what my other major is going to be (it's a toss up between Computer Science and Physics). I'm also taking French to satisfy my language requirement though I'm not what one would consider good at it. I took Latin in high school maybe I should have continued with that, but I'd rather know a language that I can actually use to speak with someone. I've thought about trying my hand at writing fanfiction again. I created this new account so I wouldn't be associated with my previous works of atrociousness. What can I say? I was young and fanfiction was not held to the same standards as it is today. I kind of miss those days though. Back then I could read some really bad fanfiction and still enjoy it. Now, I'm rather picky. I like well written fanfiction or at least something so original that it makes up for the bad writing. In an ideal world, I could have both. I'm not one of those pairing bound fanficiton authors/readers. I can put up with pretty much any pairing so long as the story is well written and interesting. The most notable exception being slash fiction. I've tried, but what I find is that it usually occurs in one of two ways. The first being that it is an amazing story up until the point that the Harry/*insert male character* action starts then it becomes a cheap smut fest with plot holes galore, or it is written by someone who writes completely unrealistic relationships. So, I now avoid slash fanfiction. Congratulations, you managed to never produce a single story of high enough quality to grab my interest that is saying something considering I can think of at least two Snape/Lily fics that I enjoy. Be warned that I am easily distracted by shiny objects so if you are waiting for me to publish and/or update a story don't hold your breath. Best of the Best: Back in Black Currently working on a couple of stories...they might end up being published at some point in the future. |
