Author has written 4 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and Blood+. 'When I sit down to write... I do not say to myself, "I am going to produce a work of art". I write it because there is some lie that I want to expose, some fact to which I want to draw attention, and my initial concern is to get a hearing.' - George Orwell, Why I Write, first published Summer 1946 Be it in paintings, music or writing, or even in simply shouting it out, we all find ways and means of expressing our inner selves. For fear of the fragility of our souls, we wear a mask. We clothe ourselves in false knowledge, dignity and nonchalance to show others that we don't care. But inside, we yearn to tear the masks from our faces and show the universe who we are inside: the fragile, ignorant us. Welcome to the world behind my mask! The world I direct with my heart's desire, concealed in riddles for all to discern, if they will. Exposing the Lie I write who I am. What I like, the way I like it. I write about the things I enjoy reading about, so perhaps through reading my works, you may gain some knowledge of the truth of who I really am. I write for myself, not for anyone else. In publishing my writing, I hope that you will like it too. But know that my main objective as a Wordsmith is catharsis and self-entertainment. My first loyalty as a writer is to myself. I write, therefore I am. Drawing Attention to the Fact I write my thoughts and feelings, my contribution to Free Expression of Thought. If something gains my admiration or disapproval, I speak my mind. That is because language was made to express oneself, and if we don't use it for that purpose, what else can we use it for? With language, and a little imagination, I write the truth the way my eyes see it being conveyed. I write to create a Utopia. Getting a Hearing Although my main audience is myself, I write to make my opinion known. And that is where you come in. If one writes, but is not heard, then his words have no power. Only when words written invoke thought of some kind, do they fulfill their purpose, and not fade into oblivion. So don't feel shy to agree with or contradict me. Got a better idea? Got a different opinion? I'm entitled to my thoughts, and so are you! Just as I have shared my feelings, so can you. I write to have my tiny voice heard. |
