Fandoms: Mostly Harry Potter, Sherlock, Avengers (aka a ton of Marvel stuff)...I actually dabble in a ton of fandoms but will probably only write for a few. I have a deep respect for other people's time and effort, and I would hate to waste it by writing something unworthy of a fandom. Yes, there's AU, but some people take it so far that it's not even in the same ballpark. That being said, I read pretty much anything that captures my attention. Again, mostly HP, but I've been converted to other fandoms via crossover, so I'm pretty versatile in my reading likes and dislikes.

Pet peeves when I read: I have a lot, but only a few are enough to make me completely stop reading a fic. Horrible spelling and grammar are one of them. I'm an English major with a plan to edit for a career, so please believe me when I say that this is the one thing that makes me cringe and cry. I'm hoping to beta later on (need to post 5,000 words or 5 stories first), so if you really need someone to look it over, I will gladly do so.

Misspelling names is another. For one, it's in the drop down list for characters. For two, Google is an amazing tool; I use it all the time. Finally, if you are writing for a specific fandom, I sincerely hope you know how to spell the names of the characters in said fandom. To not be able to is mildly disrespectful, even if it is a movie and you've only ever heard it spoken. Again, Google=best resource ever.

Restating the story: I see this a lot in the HP fandom. Sometimes, it's useful. Most of the time, it's annoying. Many of the fans have read the series multiple times, some have parts memorized. Please, please, please don't just rewrite JK Rowling's work. You are an amazing writer, and I want to know your take on the story. I already know Mrs. Rowling's thoughts - they're pretty famous at this point - but yours is a unique perspective that I can't wait to read. So, please, share with me your ideas, and don't repeat Mrs. Rowling's.

Pet peeves when I write: Aka if you're going to send me a review on my writing.

I actually consider everything people tell me, even flames. I'm of the firm belief that everything has a grain of truth, something worth reading and learning from. As an aspiring editor, I think it'd be hypocritical to ignore a review, no matter what it contains. That being said, I'm not here to be abused; I write for myself and share because I think others might enjoy what I have to say. If a flame is too ridiculous, I'll probably just laugh at you; your opinion is important but definitely not THAT important.

Grammar, again, is a big pet peeve, even in reviews. Also again, I want to edit. Please, writing out a full sentence with proper capitalization, punctuation, and spelling does not take that long. I don't particularly want to translate text speak when reading a review.

Any kind of bigotry, be it racism, homophobia, or anything. I can't stand it. I don't particularly care what your religion says about it being wrong, or if it's disgusting, or if whites are better. I don't have time for that kind of hatred in my life. If you write a review telling me that my writing sucks or I'm going to hell or whatever, then sweetie, turn yourself right around and don't let the door hit you on your way out. While I'm not a practicing Christian, I was raised with Christian ideals, and if I believe anything, it is that God hates no one. Race, religion, sexual preference, gender, age...If it doesn't matter to Him, then why in the world should it matter to me?

Overall, I just have a huge amount of respect, sympathy, and empathy to everyone. You never know what battles someone has fought through and won, or lost. Just be kind. It doesn't take much, really. And if you can't be kind, be quiet.

Fave books, movies, etc: None. I can't entirely choose because I love different things for different reasons. And making a choice like that is so defining. It's much more fun to remain a mystery, don't you think?
