![]() Author has written 11 stories for Legend of Zelda, Lord of the Rings, and Mistborn Trilogy. These are my stories. What, you expected to get to know me better? That's rough, bud. First, one of the best lines of dialogue from LotR: "Well, here is the strangest riddle that we have found yet!" exclaimed Legolas. "A bound prisoner escapes both from the Orcs and from the surrounding horsemen. He then stops, while still in the open, and cuts his bonds with an orc-knife. But how and why? For if his legs were tied, how did he walk? And if his arms were tied, how did he use the knife? And if neither were tied, why did he cut the cords at all? Being pleased with his skill, he then sat down and quietly ate some waybread! That at least is enough to show that he was a hobbit, without the mallorn-leaf. After that, I suppose, he turned his arms into wings and flew away singing into the trees. It should be easy to find him: we only need wings ourselves!" ~JRR Tolkien, The Two Towers This is why my Legolas is so prone to sassy snarkasm...xD At the moment, I have two major series, and three major fanfics. Of Rabbits and Heroes is now complete, I don't believe I will add more to that Series...except if/when I play through aLBW again...lol. Complete: Zelda Of Rabbits and Heroes (the Series) An Ounce of Courage (one shot): In which an ounce of courage changes the fate of two realms forever. aLBW, Major Spoilers, minor Hilda/Ravio and ZeLink. For Profit! (one shot): Perhaps selling the treasures of Lorule was not the best idea that Ravio had ever cooked up, but at least he made some profit along the way…aLBW Spoilers, Hildio (Hilda/Ravio) Supply and Demand (one shot): In Ravio's mind, selling items is all about creating supply and demand. Even if it takes a lie or three to get him there. One-shot. Prequel to For Profit! Incomplete Zelda Before the Flood (WIP Series) When Shadows Fall (chapter fic): "I will stand against this coming darkness," Zelda said, "I promise." After dreaming of things to come, a shy, nervous Zelda tries to take a stand against the dark future she has foreseen for herself and her people. Beta-d By SmashQueen. Author's Notes for this story sorted by Chapter Chapter 3: This is mainly to address some issues of geography, travel times, and storytelling. Yes, I'm aware that Lanayru and Ordona are not in this timeline (if the timeline isn't obvious by this point), but I believe that some things (such as geography and therefore the provinces) are very similar across all timelines. Secondly, how long something takes in game (such as traveling from one province to another) doesn't correspond to how long traveling takes in story even when you account for short day/night cycles in games. This is because a) it really gives a sense of scale to Hyrule (as a lot bigger than what you see in game); and b) that what works in a game does not always work in another medium. That's why it takes two weeks to travel to Ordona (specifically to the City of Ordon, which is a city and not a village in this story. In Hyrule, Ordon eventually became an important trade post, due to a river that runs near it and the fact that it's near the border of two other nations...it's also a really bad place to live when Hyrule's at war with its neighbors, though, that hasn't happened for centuries…) A REMINDER: If a character says something, it is POSSIBLE that they are WRONG...especially about an event that happened 1000 years ago. Don't conclude that a scholar of history always has all the facts, if only we had such luxuries as time travel magic...lol. Lord of the Rings Much Ado about Sheep (chapter fic): Latter Fourth Age, AU. In a small Ithilien settlement, two strangers have come to town, looking to uncover the answer to a simple mystery: what, exactly, is killing the sheep? A/N: An alternative history reimagining Gondor as it might have been if it had existed for 1500~ years, instead of the scat hundred or so after Aragorn's reign. Limited use of nicely applied gunpowder, long coats, and cravats. Should be about 10 to 12 chapters. The House of the Beech Tree (the Series) Shadow, Flame (One-shot/character sketch): "In this less than perfect world, I still fight monsters, new and old." Glorfindel and Elrond have a simple talk about this subject. (One-shot/character-sketch; Second Age). They Returned with Haunted Faces (chapter fic): After the War of the Last Alliance, a war-torn army returns to a grief-stricken people. Will Thranduil and his betrothed find the strength to heal their broken kingdom? Or will their own heartache make this burden impossible to bare? Thranduil/OC; early Third Age. A/N: TRWHF: Has romance, but I do not consider it a romance, per si, at least not centrally. In this story, the couple is set; I don't find couples falling in love all that interesting (it's the same old story), but I think that established pairs going through trails and tribulations together (and sometimes resulting in arguments) is far more interesting. That's why this starts in medias res, this isn't the story about how they fell in love...though it may be one about learning how to love again... I think that romance can and should exist in a wider story, but not be the focus of the story. The aim of this fic is to show what happened in Greenwood after the war, so, along with Thranduil and Minuial, it will probably include several OCs, Galion, and one...unexpected character. :P Hair Dye and Trouble (One Shot): The twins and Legolas team up to play a plank which will go down in infamy...at least, according to Glorfindel. (Early Third Age) Songs of the Sea (drabble-collection: A short collection of eight drabbles about friendship and the sea, starring the surviving members of the Fellowship of the Ring. Chapter 1: A concerned and bewildered Pippin asks Gandalf about Legolas' sea-longing. Chapter 2: In which Pippin tries to convince Merry that seashells do sound like the sea (with the help of some friends). ARE THESE FOUR FICS IN THE SAME CONTINUITY? At the moment, only the bottom three are, but that might change (or I might have a split timeline thing going on). Rule of thumb will probably be "partially". Meaning that if it's before 120 FA, it IS in the same series, after that date (probably more like whenever Gimli dies), there will be a "split" in the "timeline". Yes, it's confusing, but you do not have to read any of the other stories (except if they're direct sequels) to understand the latter stories, and vice versa. There might be some alternate fanfics that are in NEITHER series, but I will mention that in said fic. (I have an idea in my head for a short three part series that's always been a thing I wanted to write for the giggles...but we'll see...) Possible Future Stories (Without promises) Vengeance is Mine: (One shot) The twins and Legolas did not know what they had wrought by pranking the Balrog-Slayer; six months to the day, Glorfindel has some "harmless" fun, Elrond a headache, and Erestor wonders, dryly, if he is the only adult in Imladris. (Early Third Age; Sequel to Hair Dye and Trouble) The Waiting: (One shot) Thranduil worries that he will not see his son again. (Late Third Age) Update Schedule: When I have time, thanks. |
