This is fine tuning a VERY long story called "That Same Color Blue" Set 15 years before the events of Bates Motel. Sam Bates drags his wife Norma and her two young sons to White Pine Bay. Once there, they are immediately met by Deputy Alex Romero. Romero's life changes as he keeps finding himself pulled closer to the headstrong young mother, Norma Bates. Normero FOREVER!

It was all a dream. But she woke up. (Alternate ending, because Hugh and Olivia deserve a HEA.)

AU Historical 1940 WW2. Norma Bates runs a boarding house for young women. With America on the brink of war with Europe, her son Norman joins the Air Force. Much to her displeasure, Colonel Alex Romero refuses to let her son out of his service contract. Then tragedy strikes. Emma is a tenant at the Bates Boarding house. Dylan is in the Air Force. Norma and Alex together.

The thing is, people who feel the need to control everything often, in actuality, feel out of control on the inside. Norma is left alone with her thoughts the night Alex takes Norman to Pineview.

Kind of an Au of Norma and Alex right after their "I hate you" fight so get ready guys. (yes this is going to have lots of chapters. PS. THIS CONTAINS SMUT (a whole lot) even the first chapter. ;)

This is a different version of Bates Motel, starting with a brief summary of Norma's high school life and following her through her marriages. The story is better than the description.
