![]() Author has written 5 stories for Ranger's Apprentice. Formerly: Invent. Animate (changed as of 3/6/13) Now: commodore17 (as of 5/29/13) What can I say? After my long hiatus from this site due to numerous reasons in which I will have hopefully specified by the time this update is over, something about this site caused me to reset my password at 1:00 A.M. (Quite literally. I'm doing this on 3/6/13 and its 1:08 in the morning. As to how I'll possibly survive school later today, I'd rather not carry the thought). After reading over my profile, in which was last updated 5/14/12, courtesy of this very convenient blue bar placed above this profile box, I nearly gagged on the immaturity. It was like I had received one of those 'time capsles' that one writes for his 'future self' to open in a few years, filled with the activities and happenings that were once so exciting to him, now to his chagrin. Hopefully, by the time you read this, or anyone for that matter, a new story will be out and on the front pages of the Ranger's Apprentice archives, as even during my unprecedented leave, I've closely followed the community. And I must say, I am quite impressed. The newer writers from when I left have now thrived into respectable members of their respective archives. What have I been doing this entire time? The answer to that is, well, life. I haven't had much time to write and plan new chapters for 'Commandant's Apprentice' (I think that's the name of it), simply because I've gotten too busy to dedicate time to it. School consumes my life right at the moment, and it obviously succeeds in sapping the energy right out of me. I'll probably end up deleting 'Commandant's Apprentice'. Even though it received more feedback than what I could've asked for at the time, in retrospect, it doesn't satisfy me -- which brings me to my next topic. I'll pretty much upload when I have the time to. If I see that my work starts to become well received, (for a lack of better words. It's 1:30 in the morning, cut me some slack) whatever that may be will take more of a prioritized role. I'll try to pre-write some ideas I've had ahead of time, so that my readers, whom I gladly appreciate, won't be kept waiting, abusing their refresh button. Just as a preface, however. Anyone who has at least some recollection of me will notice that I have changed my pen name. As I'm typing this, I'm not sure as to what the new name will be. I am sure, however, that it'll be a bit more toned down and convenient. Overall, I'm going for a complete upheaval of my previous profile as well as writing style That's right, radical change is a-comin'. I think this new style I've encompassed will focus more on description and characterization, and keeping the original canon as untouched and clean as possible. POSSIBLE VENTURES: Revamp of 'Commandant's Apprentice' If I were to pursue this, then it would definitely be a bit more orthodox. I know that the one posted right now (as of 3/6/12) is very unrealistic and borderline AU, which drove away a lot of potential readers. I've actually been writing and formulating ideas for this new revamped version. Although it might go up under a different name, the chances of me doing this are very likely. Revelation of another one of Halt's relatives This is an idea I've had for quite some time. Although I've never really created a backbone for it, there's definitely a possibility that I might pursue this. I haven't seen a whole lot of these in the archives, but it would take me some time to create a likeable and canon-based plot. This would most likely be an idea if 'Commandant's Apprentice' receives feedback to my liking. Overall, the chances of me doing this are likely, depending on many factors. But of course, I'm always open to suggestions from you readers out there. If you have an idea, send it to me in a message. I'll consider everything! |
