In 2003, I wrote my first Dark Shadows fanfic, featuring Barnabas Collins. I wondered what it would be like for Barnabas Collins to meet a vampire slayer and what problems would come from it. "Kindred Spirits" was the result of that idea. Being a huge fan of “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel”, I have adopted a few aspects from Joss Whedon’s vampire world into my story. First there is a female vampire slayer whose primary purpose is to hunt down and rid the world of vampires; and second, the vampires do not have to live in a coffin during the day. The reader may notice a few other similarities to Whedon’s BTVS world but these two are the primary ones. This story is NOT a cross-over since the vampire slayer is not Buffy and has her own back-story. Following this story is the sequel, "Blood Destiny".

From these two epics spawned additional DS tales featuring my favorite character, Barnabas Collins. I plan to share those too. Thanks for reading and I welcome all comments. :)
