I spend way too much time thinking about two things: Velvet Goldmine, and the Stooges. (Well, and slash fiction in general.) You may notice the thread that binds the two is Iggy Pop. Yes, I have quite an extreme Iggy Pop infatuation. I love Curt Wild. I do not, however, love Brian Slade. Arthur Stuart and Mandy, they can stay. :) Actually, I love the two of them almost as much as Curt. But Brian...only if he's characterized so well I can't resist. This is hard to do. Silk is an outside-of-ff.net writer who is the master of writing Brian so I can't resist him, for example. Search out her stuff (at her site, Prettyboys.net or Prettyboys.org, if you can navigate it) if you have the chance. It's totally worth it. Usually, though, I'm a Curt/Arthur hardcore shipper all the way, baby. I also love the Flaming Creatures (and Placebo). Spinal Tap slash is something that should exist but doesn't. Cmon, where's the Nigel/David, people??? Did you even SEE those extended scenes? It's not even subtext, it's pretty much TEXT!! Strictly original-film-wise, though: Poor Nigel. Eeeevil Jeanine. And then I love Newsies, and Newsies slash--it's hard to navigate through the inordinate amounts of Mary Sue fic at this site, but I've fished out a few favorite slash stories and authors of mine--and I lovvvvvvvve X-Files slash. Mulder/Krycek is like the one true pairing to end all one true pairings. Seriously. Clark/Lex is my current television obsession, but even these two who are practically married in my mind cannot live up to the wonderfulness of the Mulder/Krycek pairing. (Though they often come close.) My ambitions for writing all pretty much lie within the realm of the fandoms I've mentioned thus far. Yeah, I actually DO have an X-files/Velvet Goldmine crossover dreamt up that I hope to one day complete. No, seriously. I've got other obsessions, but they all subsist outside the scope of ff.net. I'm gonna get my bandslash penned one day, I am. Ta for now! P.S. The saddest thing about my pen name is the fact that I don't actually wear eyeliner. Sorry. |
