Author has written 7 stories for Rio, and Chronicles of Narnia.

Hi, my name is Victoria Pell. I live in the UK. I have joined this site in 2012 (that was some years ago!). Since then, writing fanfiction on my favourite movie and book series has been a major thing of mine on this site.

The franchises I have written stories around are Rio, a movie series, and the Chronicles of Narnia, the book series by CS Lewis as well as its film and TV adaptations. I have written six stories on the former and currently writing my first story on the latter.

All my stories (both Rio and Chronicles of Narnia) are rated T due to darker, more mature themes involved such as violence, especially in some fighting scenes (for example, Cicatriz and his colony vs the macaws in one of my Rio stories; the Massacre Event scenes in my first Narnia story), occasional descriptions of wounds, some references to reproduction, and some frightening, disturbing and dark themes of some scenes and characters or groups (such as the flying fox colony in one of my Rio stories, and my depiction of Jadis in my Narnia story). As a result, these themes make my stories not suitable for younger readers at all hence the T rating. If these stories were actual official movies they would probably have a 12 or even a 15 rating.

Story section

Rio

I have six stories written around this movie franchise so far and I am planning on another one once I have finished my Narnia story. My first story is set between Rio and Rio 2 while the rest are set after Rio 2. Note that some of these songs may also be in the Narnia stories' soundtracks as well.

1. Rio One and a Half

Soundtrack:

Main theme- Berlin: Take My Breath Away- refers to the developing feelings between Jupiter and company and their counterparts

Charlie Puth: See You Again and Bruno Mars: Talking to the Moon- both refer to Mercury and Venus's small hope of some of their family members surviving after they are torn from them by poachers. This hope carries until they are adults and have to return to Rio for breeding purposes.

Genre: Adventure/family

Status: complete

2. Jupiter and Company and their Adventure in the Amazon

Soundtrack:

Main theme: Micheal Jackson: Beat It- describes the arrogant attitude of the glaucous macaw tribe as well as the conflict still existing between the Lear's and green macaw tribes before they finally make peace.

Genre: Adventure/family

Status: complete

3. Blu, Jupiter and Company's Return to Rio: Double Trouble

Soundtrack

Main theme: Duran Duran: A View to a Kill- emphasises the drama involved when Jupiter, Blu and company are forced to deal with Nigel's burning ambition for revenge, especially on Blu and Jewel for grounding him near the end of Rio and the further humiliation he suffered in its sequel, as well as his sadistic threats and his dangerously volatile temper that eventually reaches boiling point. This theme also refers to Brutus's former minions' insatiable desire for revenge on Catina for abandoning them and the death of Brutus in Rio 1 and a Half.

U2- Electrical Storm- from Zephyr, Venus, Sapphire and Mercury's perspective. Faced with the murderer of their families when they were chicks, Venus and Mercury both face a torrent of returning bad memories as well ass the threat of that history repeating itself with Nigel threatening the lives of their mates, Zephyr and Sapphire, and their chicks. This threatens the relationship between these two couples, and Zephyr and Sapphire must comfort them and stand alongside them against the demented cockatoo throughout the story, even if Venus and Mercury don't want them to and despite Nigel's increasing threats.

Ugly Kid Joe: Everything About You- refers to the extremely acidic enmity and rancour between Blu and Jewel and their nemesis Nigel. Most of the song's lyrics certainly do fit Blu and Jewel's inability to stand Nigel and vice versa.

Genre: Adventure/family

Status: complete

4. Carla, Bia and Tiago and the Legend of the Bizarre Birds and Treasure

Soundtrack

Main theme: Kenny Loggins- Danger Zone- refers to Carla and company's embarking on a perilous quest into the unknown to search for the legendary treasure to save the Sanctuary de Amazon. On the way, they must deal with a variety of dangers, such as poachers (due to being outside the sanctuary), predatory animals thought long extinct such as predatory bat-birds (pterosaurs) that live within Jurassic Jungle (the legendary place where the bizarre birds, archaeobirds, live) and also a dangerous gang of birds led by Ilosovic the frigatebird who will try and lead them off the quest road and force them into joining their rogue gang instead.

REO Speedwagon: Can't Fight This Feeling- refers to the development of Virgil and Bia's feelings as it eventually evolves into romance. Before, Virgil had been too shy to admit his feelings to Bia, and hadn't had the chance due to Bia dating Raul, another male Spix macaw until his breakup with her.

Genre: Adventure/family

Status: complete

5. Attack of the Flying Foxes and the Battle for the Sanctuary

Soundtrack:

Main theme: A-ha- The Living Daylights- refers to and illustrates the dramatic and escalating conflict between the flying fox colony and the bird tribes, clans and the smaller groups to the point of the eventual war between them.

Adele: Skyfall- this James Bond theme, though some of the lyrics might not apply, is ideal in describing the severe miasma of fear, despair and worry hanging over the bird flocks of the Sanctuary de Amazon as their homes become more and more under the threat of invasion by Cicatriz and his colony. In a sense, it feels like the sky is about to fall on the birds in the form of a cloud of savage bird-detesting bats, which would without a doubt happen unless they do something to protect their homes, which they eventually have to do so.

Snow Patrol: Chasing Cars- Io and Sheldon (or Sheldio's)'s love theme song

Kite String Tangle: Given the Chance- Ganymede and Mimas (Ganymas's)'s love theme song

REO Speedwagon: Can't Fight This Feeling- Bia and Virgil (Virgia's)'s love theme song

Fleetwood Mac: Everywhere- the love theme song for Justin and Carla (Justla)

Cyndi Lauper: True Colours- the love theme song for Tiago and Matilda (Tiatilda)

Genre: Action/drama

Status: complete

6. Sandalwood and his friends and the Sanctuario del Paradiso

Soundtrack:

Sia: Breathe Me- from the perspectives of some of the characters, especially Sandalwood involving his situation in being unable to fly as well as how he feels useless and blames himself for the whole ordeal. Bellatrix also blames herself for what happened to Sandalwood and feels immensely guilty despite it not being her fault; and Tiago, along with Matilda and Bartholomew (Bellatrix's brother) has to deal with a seriously damaged reputation thanks to the lies of some of Sandalwood's bullies and their direction of the blame on Bellatrix. Meanwhile, Stella and Soren are faced with the tragic and heartbreaking possibility of never seeing their son Sandalwood fly again as well as the fear of never actually seeing him wholly again after his disappearance.

Alan Walker and Iselin Solheim: Faded- refers to how torn Sandalwood and the other 39 kids feel without their parents in the conservation area, especially after seeing so many kids living on the site being with their families. This missing of family and feeling lost is shared by an emperor penguin chick named Atreyu who misses his emperor penguin colony, parents, and other relatives and friends. He is apparently the only chick who is on the same perch as Sandalwood and company, both being torn from their families and feeling so lost and faded as the song seems to suggest.

ZAYN and Taylor Swift: I Don't Wanna Live Forever- describes Io and Sheldon's damaged relationship as it takes a terrible blow after Betelgeuse and Rigel, both their daughters, end up taken by poachers along with Sandalwood and several dozen other kids, and further made worse by some acidic lies spewed at them from some of the horrible toucans, among them two of the nastiest relatives and offspring-in-law of Rafael and Eva. After a heated argument and break up, Sheldon and Io soon deeply regret it and want to make up, both wanting each other to return.

Christina Perry: A Thousand Years and Sia: Helium- both refer to the developing romance between Triton and Iris, with Iris wanting to love Triton and start a family with him despite his disfigurement.

Madonna: Sorry and Evanescance: My Heart is Broken- the first song refers to Diantha and the other good toucans' immense disgust in the majority of their many, many siblings, nephews and nieces and the destruction they have caused for everyone, as well as their veering into villain-like behaviour. Some of the lyrics of the first song are even partly quoted or paraphrased by some of the characters when the bad toucans try to beg for forgiveness, only to realise that it is too late for it now. The latter song refers to Diantha breaking down over what many of her siblings and in-laws have become, as well as the loss of Tom during the climactic events. The song's dramatic melody certainly describes Diantha's MASSIVE heartbreak over the devastation over all the events.

Genre: Friendship/hurt and comfort

Status: complete

Story trivia (minor spoiler alert)

  1. Some of the scenes in my stories have been inspired by scenes from various films and movies

- The scene where Venus flies through the forest propelled by extreme fear in The Amazon Adventure is inspired by Snow White's flight through the forest in which the trees appear to take on terrifying monsters in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (a Disney film). The scene where the cockatoo-like spectral manifestation of her fear chasing her through the forest is based on that of a wolf-like manifestation of Snow White's fear that never made it to the final cut of the film;

- The scene where Carla, Bia and Tiago and some of their friends sneak through the airport and board the plane in L of the BB and T is based on the Tri-Country International Airport scenes from Tory Story 2.

- The part in the same story where Ilosovic sings an introductory song and threatens Carla's group featuring the line 'face my fury' is a parody of the scene where Captain Gutt attempts to get Manfred and his herd in Ice Age 4: Continental Drift under the threat of death.

- During the smaller ravine battle in Attack of the Flying Foxes, the scene where Virgil proposes to Bia to be his mate, along with Justin with Carla, Tiago with Matilda, etc is based on the wedding scene of Elizabeth and Will in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

- Pájarritch is a recently invented game for the Pit of Games and is inspired by the Quidditch games in the Harry Potter series. It has much of the principles of the Wizarding game and is explained in one of my stories. The name is a fusion of the Portuguese word for 'parrot' and Quidditch.

2. Likewise, some characters and groups are also inspired by various characters and fictional groups in the movies and TV series:

- The archaeobirds, which are based on Microraptor, a genus of extinct dino-birds that had feathered legs, have a way of life that is largely like the blue Na'vi aliens from the film Avatar. They ride on bat-birds (pterosaurs) like how the Na'vi ride their Mountain Banshees and they live in one large tree as well as some smaller trees and, unlike the other bird tribes and clans, the archaeobirds have mastered fire and know how to keep it under strict control and contained.

- Victor (a hyacinth macaw) and his ability to throw his fruit shell hat like a frizbee is inspired by Oddjob from the James Bond series. Unlike Oddjob's hat which is bladed and thus slices his victims (which is extremely gory), Victor's hat instead just bops his enemies and stuns them.

- Cicatriz is based on Hopper from A Bug's Life, including his blind right eye, the result of a serious injury from a vicious fight with an amazon parrot in his teen years.

- Jupiter has a voice that is similar to that of Sylvester Stallone while Zephyr's voice is similar to Elijah Wood's, Brisa's is similar to Disgust from Inside Out and Venus's voice is similar to 7, a character from Tim Burton's film 9.

- Lily's hiding of a group of birds from the flying fox colony is inspired by Esmeralda's hiding of the gypsies from Frollo and his minions in the Court of Miracles in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. Among these birds are species of macaws that are declared extinct by humans, such as the Cuban red macaw, and species that are entirely made up, such as the purple-and-pink macaw (Pitaya's species).

- The Paradise Sanctuary place and their founders are inspired by the Aether Paradise in Pokemon Sun and Moon and also the Human Zoo in Steven Universe with its artificial jungle made up of indoor-grown trees.

- Zephyr and Venus can be seen as parallels to Blu and Jewel, often with inverse roles; while Blu is a domesticated male macaw and Jewel is a wild female, Venus is a domesticated female macaw and Zephyr is a wild male and both couples have had chicks. However, there are big differences between the couples: Blu was unable to fly while Venus was as a pet, Zephyr and Venus have four first-brood chicks while Blu and Jewel only have three, and Zephyr was torn from the Spix tribe by the fire along with his sister Brisa and parents Tornado and Gael while Jewel was alone.

- Pluto and Lapis Lazuli are also in a way a parallel to Blu and Jewel as both males were domesticated (Pluto and Blu) and both females were wild (Lapis Lazuli and Jewel); both were the last known pair of their species (Blu and Jewel- Spix and Pluto and Lapis Lazuli- glaucous); both had been chained together by poachers and both couples eventually had chicks. Pluto and Lapis Lazuli are actually more closer to being Blu and Jewel's parallels than Zephyr and Venus.

- I intended Roberto and Brisa's first-brood clutch to have three chicks, two sons and a daughter as an inverse Blu and Jewel's first brood of three chicks which are two daughters and one son. The sexes of the latter couple's offspring was theorized to be two sons and a daughter until the producers revealed it to be actually the other way round.

3. Some of the characters in my series have trauma-based fears due to a major event that had happened in their lives:

Jewel- extreme pyrophobia (irrational fear of fire)- caused by the fiery disaster that tore her from her tribe when she was young

Roberto- extreme fear of humans and flying foxes- caused by his traumatic experience with a human girl who had abused him as a pet and when Voldemort and some other flying foxes slaughtered his family during their 'hunting trip'. Though he eventually overcomes these, the name 'Voldemort' is still enough to send him into hysterics, as is the sight of poachers and their traps or the very mentioning of them

Venus and Mercury- extreme fear of Nigel- caused by said cockatoo slaughtering most of their families when they were chicks, and his subsequent abuse of them during their smuggling out of Brazil

Jupiter- fear of rushing water- caused by Nigel after the cockatoo attempts to drown him in a stream of it

Lapis Lazuli, Esmeralda, Ruby, Orquidea and some other macaws who survived the flying foxes' brutal interrogation- extreme fear of flying foxes- caused by the flying fox colony's attack on her tribe and also the torture she suffered in Cicatriz's colony's territory by interrogators. It took them years to slowly overcomes their fear of Augustus and the other allied flying foxes but the names 'Cicatriz' and 'Iracebeth' are still enough to ignite panic within them

Sandalwood- fear of heights and flying- caused by some of Rafael and Eva's grandkids' carelessness involving him plummeting with his wings tied to his sides. He eventually learns to overcome it and learn to fly again.

Triton- social anxiety and lack of confidence due to his left facial side getting scarred and his eye clouded and damaged by one of Cicatriz's minions while trying to protect Sebastian, Stella and Luna- the trauma of losing sight in his left eye as a result of the attack which is made worse by Penelope dumping him. It still remains one of his highly sensitive spots despite the fact he had adapted to life with just one eye and the disfigurement resulting from the bat's attack on him

Some of the second generation offspring of Blu and company- various fears- caused by their near brush with death in the fire of the Blu Bird Sanctuary, some at the clutches of some of the marauding toucan chicks:

Acerola and some others such as Sirius, Gladion and Lillie- claustrophobia (fear of tight and small spaces)- developed from being thrown into a burrow and sealed in it by a large rock and almost having it become their tomb as the fire tore through the Blu Bird Sanctuary's forest

Aldebaran, Ferdinand and the other kids that had been tied to logs and thrown into a stream- an extreme fear of water- caused by this experience that nearly killed them. Aldebaran was also traumatized by Marco when the wicked toucan repeatedly dunked him into another stream before this

Betelgeuse and Rigel- extreme fear of fire- caused by their multiple narrow escapes from death in the inferno after being left behind by Sofia and her comrades. Betelgeuse has also developed social anxiety after losing the toes of her left foot after her foot had been badly burned beyond repair.

Some of my characters also have physical problems such as disfigurements including a scarred face and blindness in one eye (Triton, Cicatriz), the loss of a foot (Eustace, Betelgeuse), both of which had been caused by a devastating event; albinism (Sebastian and his sisters Stella and Luna; and also Lily, Melissa's cousin and thus the cousin-once-removed of Sebastian and his sisters) and dwarfism (Chiquitita, Phobos and Deimos) which are genetic

Name origins (major characters)

- Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Ceres and Pluto- seven of the planets and two of the dwarf planets in our solar system

- Ruby, Esmeralda, Lapis Lazuli, Sapphire- gemstones (Esmeralda is Spanish for 'Emerald')

- Ultramarine, Cobalto- a dark blue pigment, words associated with blue (Cobalto is Spanish for cobalt and derives from cobalt blue)

- Zephyr, Gael, Tornado, Brisa- wind-associated words or names punning them

- Chiquitita- a song by Abba and Spanish for 'small girl', referring to her small size

- Orquidia- Spanish word for orchid

- Veggie- a child's word for vegetable referring to the cat's vegetarian nature

- Matilda- the girl from Roald Dahl's book of the same name; Virgil- one of the characters from the Thunderbirds

- Phobos, Deimos, Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Iapetus, Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, Oberon, Triton, Charon, Amalthea and Hyperion- various moons of Mars through Pluto

- Stella and Luna- from Stellaluna (book)

- Soren- Guardians of Ga'Hoole

- Sandalwood- a type of tree

- Connie, Steven, Lars, Greg- from Steven Universe

- Acerola, Gladion, Lillie, Diantha- from Pokemon Sun and Moon and their Ultra sequels

- Frodo- from the Lord of the Rings

- Cicatriz- Spanish for 'scar'; Iracebeth- after Iracebeth of Crimms from Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton version)

Chronicles of Narnia

1. The Eternal Winter

Soundtrack

Cranberries- Zombie- this dramatic, moving song, while some of the lyrics might not apply, certainly does fit the extreme shock and devastation at what the White Witch's dictatorship and its consequences has brought upon the land of Narnia, and perfectly fits the extreme heartbreak, despair and excruciating agony of the oppressed Narnians, especially with the highly gratuitously violent Decadal Massacre Event (deceptively called the Fighting League), as well as how many of the creatures hope for an end to the wintery curse put upon them and their land by the White Witch; their only hope being in the Prophecy foretold before the Eternal Winter (also called the Age of Winter)

Sia- Unstoppable

Sia- Elastic Heart

Nickelback- I'd Come For You

Genesis- No Son of Mine and Hurts- Stay- former song refers to Kushanku and Dashiell's strained relationship. Dashiell blames Kushanku for the destruction of Green Leaf Village for his belief in Aslan and as a result has grown cold and distant from his adopted Nekomata son. When Dashiell disowns him, Kushanku is deeply hurt. He is forced to accept Dashiell's decision and the latter song describes his heartbreak in making this difficult choice.

Puddle of Mudd- Blurry

Charlie XCX- Boom Clap and - Celine Dion- My Heart Will Go On- both songs refer to the romance and the strength of the feelings between Kushanku and Alexandrite. The first song is intended to reflect their initial, childlike attraction towards each other while the latter is intended to reflect how developed their romance becomes later in the story

Peter Cetera- Glory of Love

Genre: Hurt/comfort

Status: In progress

Story trivia (minor spoiler alert)

- My visualization of Jadis's dictatorship over Narnia during the Age of Winter is heavily inspired by that of the Capitol over the other districts in the country of Panem (set in a post-apocalyptic world, specifically in North America) in the Hunger Games book series and the film adaptations, with the Massacre Event and how forcibly selected Narnians are forced into it based on the titular games and how the Tributes are selected and thrown into the arena. However, hundreds of Narnians are selected rather than just 24 young kids in the books and the films. How the selected Narnians slaughter each other and the last one standing being showered with all kinds of luxuries, however, follows largely the same principle as how the fighters slay each other in the Hunger Games arena with the victor receiving a massive fountain of luxuries, seemingly freeing them from the suffering inflicted on them by the domineering tyrants (Jadis for my story; the Capitol in the Hunger Games)

- Some of the creatures loyal to Jadis are inspired by truly horrible creatures from other franchises. The Shadows are based on the Dementors of the Harry Potter series; the Xenojaws on the Xenomorphs from Alien (though they lack the ability to use humans as a surrogate womb for their young; you could even say that the Xenojaws are the Narnian cousins to the Xenomorphs who somehow found their way into Narnia from the Alien universe through some unknown means); and the Lizard-Men on the Kanimas from Teen Wolf.

- Belladonna's personality involving a seemingly innocent and nice appearance and behaviour which is in fact a facade concealing her true nature as an outright evil, bloodthirsty, and utterly sadistic Kitsune who loves seeing Narnians in extreme pain as well as blood spilling and watching her victims suffer is largely inspired by Henry from The Good Son whose innocent appearance conceals immensely psychopathic behaviour.

- Kushanku's character design incorporates traits from three different characters: his white mop-like hair and the way it spikes out when he is angry or frightened is derived from Roberto from Rio; his light grey head and neck is based on the fur colour of the Nyan Cat, a flying cat with a poptart for its body that leaves a rainbow trail as it flies, and famous for its rather catchy Nyan song; and Kushanku's ability to fly by spinning his two tail branches derives from Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog.

- the osteum herb and the potion it makes, the Fracture-Fix Potion, are inspired by the Skele-Gro potion from Harry Potter. Like that potion, the Fracture-Fix Potion helps mends broken bones but tastes vile, and the bone making process is highly uncomfortable.

- the invented evolution view of Narnia's history is heavily inspired by the evolution game Spore in which the fictional species are developed from their own microbial ancestors that hatched from space meteors that landed in a sea. In the same way, those who believe in this story believe that each animal and creature kind is descended from their own microbes that had seeded the primitive Narnian ocean after a meteor exploded and threw smaller fragments of itself containing those microbes into the water.

- the reason why there are no Talking Mice in the Eternal Winter and the Exodus is because Talking Mice did not come into being until after the events of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe where Aslan gives the mice that had freed his body from the bounds after his sacrificial death on the Stone Table as a reward for their deed.

- the term 'extra-Narnian' is a derivative of the word 'extraterrestrial' and basically means any being that is not of the world of Narnia and instead comes from a different world outside Narnia, similar to how extraterrestrials are beings not of the Earth but are from worlds outside the Earth. Humans are a classic example of extra-Narnians for they are not originally of Narnia but of earth and have found a way into Narnia through magical means; but if Narnians like Kushanku the Nekomata for example end up transported to Earth through a magic portal for instance, they would indeed have the term 'extraterrestrial' labelled on them since they are not of Earth.

Couple themes

Kushanku and Alexandrite (Kushandrite)- Rita Ora and ZAYN- For You- reflects this couple's finding of love for each other through the trials and tribulations they face throughout The Eternal Winter and the Exodus as well as describes the strength of their feelings for each other.

Satoshi and Padparadscha "Paddy"- TBD

Name origins (mostly major characters)

Kushanku- a kata in Karate (specifically Wado-Ryu)

Alexandrite, Padparadscha "Paddy", Obsidian- gemstones and other rocks

Thundersparx- a combination of 'thunder' and Sparx, the name of the dragonfly from the Spyro series.

Gandalf (the Kitsune Chronicler), Gollum (Head of the Black Dwarfs)- from the Lord of the Rings

Romulus (Chief of the Wolf Police and one of Maugrim's predecessors)- from the Hunger Games and Greek mythology

Malefor (initial Manticore head)- the antagonistic purple dragon from the Legend of Spyro trilogy

Kyukon, Nyarth, Nyaonix, Bursyamo- Japanese names of various Pokemon (the first two are Ninetales and Meowth)

Dionaea- the genus name for the Venus flytrap

Satoshi, Akira- given Japanese names

Sandstorm, Gingerfur, Amberpaw- names derived from the style of the names of the characters from the Warrior Cat series

Nanu, Alain, Mairin, Molayne- human characters from Pokemon

Tuvok, Guinan, Soran- from Star Trek

Desdemona- from Othello (one of my Rio characters, specifically one of Cobalto and Ceres's daughters, also has this name)

Milky Way- the seas of stars that stretches across the night sky and also a naming method from the characters from My Little Pony

Belladonna (Kitsune)- from the deadly nightshade plant and also the demon whippet from 'All Dogs Go to Heaven'

Pazuzu (Head of the Shadows)- the demon that possesses Regan McNiel in the Exorcist

Puca (Head of the Banshees)- Irish for 'ghost'

Overall story trivia (for both Rio and Chronicles of Narnia)

I have dealt with some pretty dark subjects and topics throughout my story series (both in Rio and Chronicles of Narnia). These include:

- mass genocide (Cicatriz and his flying fox colony's attacks on the bird flocks to drive them out; the Narnians slaughtering each other in the Arena of Death during the Witch's Massacre Event (deceptively named the 'Fighting League'))

- murders and attempted murders, and manslaughter (Nigel killing countless exotic birds such as Mercury and Venus's family members though some survive; Dalek and his toucan 'accomplices' almost killing Bellatrix, Sandalwood, Connie and some of the others such as Ferdinand and the others with him by drowning them in the stream or burning them alive; Acerola, Gladion, Lillie and the others with them almost suffocating in the burrow by the fire after they had been dumped in there by some of the horrible toucan chicks)

- kidnapping (some of the macaws and other birds by the flying foxes for interrogation; the bad toucans with Carla, Bia, Tiago and company's kids)

- torture (Lapis Lazuli, Esmeralda, Ruby and some other macaws in the flying fox colony's interrogation patch)

- orphaning as a result of the loss of parents at a young age, even babies (Mercury and Venus as chicks in Rio before they were smuggled; Kushanku, Nyarth, Satoshi and Akira as kits in Chronicles of Narnia when their mother Ferntail had her Sylph friend take them away in time before she was killed by some Wolves and Manticores)

- child rejection (Dashiell with Kushanku and his siblings and also Sandstorm, one of his own sons)

- destructive behaviour (the toucan chicks with the fire in Blu Bird Sanctuary as coerced by Dalek)

- sadistic behaviour (most especially Belladonna. That Kitsune is honestly a beast)
