AU. 1862, the North has started the draft. Santana follows her father to war, intent on proving her worth as a doctor. Brittany enlists in place of her father, intent on keeping her family safe. In this broken land, they find a home in each other.

At first the only person you see is a little girl standing there, her long blonde hair in braided pigtails. Then you finally see who is standing with her. Brittany nervously shifts her weight from one foot to the other, "Uh, hi Santana."
