AU tag for 5x09. When Mordred came down the cliff to help Merlin and Arthur, he might have forgotten a very important piece of equipment. And so the three of them are stuck at the bottom of a cliff with nothing to do. Arthur wasn't sure if he wanted to commit homicide or suicide. However, after Gwaine had arrived, he was definitely eaning towards murder.

Arthur Pendragon was not amused. His manservant is missing, his father is in cahoots with some lord and he keeps bumping into a kitchen maid. An alternative ending to 5x08 "The Hollow Queen" in which Daegal survives. Merlin and Daegel have a misunderstanding with Arthur. Arthur thinks he knows the real reason Merlin was missing for days and has a limp. And it's not a girl.

Somewhere along the way their friendship broke down, shattered into a million pieces and no matter how hard they try, they can't put it back together. And for the life of him he can't figure out when.
