JK Rowling has recently stated that she was mistaken when she had Harry wind up with Ginny and Hermione with Ron. The Problem of Ginny is an exploration of how the relationships between the four develop as they enter their late thirties, given that none of them were ever meant to be in the relationships that they wound up in.
