By the time I was old enough to understand anything, the first thing I loved was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, probably like any other kids around my age were. Recently (2006, if you want to know) I got hold of a few episodes. This time round, I picked up more things than I ever had; in-depth characterisation (or lack of, concerning some events)... And I fell in love with the series all over again. This is just a pen name, another alias I go by. If you're observant enough and in the same other fandoms I am in, you might recognise my writing style. This pen name, however, solely represents Power Ranger fiction. We all know what a power coin is; how important it is for each Ranger to keep hold to their own coins. In a way it is important to me as well, because MMPR provided me with such delight and entertainment when I was younger, and it hadn't ceased of its importance even until now. For what it's worth, I can honestly confess that I care little for the series post-Kimberly's departure. When I was younger I absolutely despised Katherine -- as you might have guessed, I was one of those little girls who's always wanted to be the Pink Ranger. Additionally, by then, I was starting to get more interested in other things (namely school for one, writing for another) and I've never watched any other series in full or in part. I was utterly tickled when I saw good ol' Tommy with his hair cut on Dino Thunder when my little cousin played his video. I never believed Kimberly would've sent that letter (and this is the character assassination I was talking about...). As such, when I write, it'll tie in to the MMPR canon and not beyond. My viewing ended 3x25. I firmly believe the letter is unjustified of her character (and of the show... If the writers wanted to erase all memories of her so that Tommy could get it on with other people, then at least do it in a more classy way). Until then, 'It's Morphin' Time!' |
