Just in case you were wondering about me...I'm 32, married and the mother of a three year old.

I became interested in fan fiction a little over a year ago when I stumbled onto it through a random Google search for Phantom of the Opera. For those of you familiar with POTO, I will confess that Erik may have actually been my first love! ;)

I was never much of a reader, but quickly found myself immersed in lots of great phics. I'm an E/C shipper, but I don't mind a good OFC either. The idea of writing a story of my own occurred to me, but I had no previous creative writing experience. And yes, I was chicken.

One fateful night, I found myself lying awake with an idea. Norah Jones' "Come Away With Me" was stuck in my head, and I wondered what it would be like if someone actually asked you to come away with them. What would it sound like? A command, a plea, a casual offer? Immediately, I heard a voice saying the words - Alan Rickman's voice. It just popped into my head out of nowhere. Well, not nowhere. Earlier that day, I watched Prisoner of Azkaban, and you can probably follow the synaptic connections from there.

Now, I loved the HP movies, but had not read any of the books. And since it's kind of hard to start a fic without a working knowledge of canon, I read all six books immediately. Of course, now I'm a major HP geek.
