There will be none of this 'genetically pure/damaged' rubbish, Tris and the others uncover something much worse and it will take all of them to fight for their freedom and what's right.

Even ten years after scattering Tris's ashes, Tobias is trying to figure out how to live life without her. He has professional success and still keeps his close circle of friends, but he still struggles with her ghost. Christina shows up at his apartment late one night, with Tris in her car, and he prays that it's a dream. Because losing her again could destroy him. Xpost from AO3.

Tris isn't very... open with people after the accident. She's afraid of losing someone she cares about. Why care if you'll lose them anyway? She finally makes a few friends, but she tells herself she can't trust them. Everyone else thinks she's some goth chick, but she just wears black to go unnoticed. (There's an actual plot line, not just a senseless high school story.)

And if that wasn't enough, her relationship with Tobias is rocky, since he is stressed out about fighting the war, that's going on - Huge demonstrations, people leaving their factions illegally. When Tris gets to see how bad it really is, she and Tobias seek help in Amity...

It's 5 years later and his bitchy fiance, Jessica, is pregnant. He stumbles upon Initiates Diner and finds out that Will, Marlene, Lynn, and Uriah are alive. He also finds out Tris is alive with his 4 year old daughter, Olivia (Livi). Will Tobias pick a happy life with Tris and Livi? Or will he pick a miserable life with someone who needs him?
