Nina Dobrev meets a 14 year old girl named Becca, and discovers her mother died of cancer, and her father left her at an orphanage so he could run off with his new wife. She decides to adopt the girl, but knows she'll need a better father figure, so she asks Ian, who is still a good friend of hers after the breakup, to be the girl's adopted father.
