Biography: I discovered this wonderful site so many years ago now, and I still check it often. Reading is my life. In my life, there isn't a problem or situation that can't be soothed by a good book. And this site has provided hours, no...days (dare I even say months?!) of endless delight in reading material. I've messaged my favorite authors to let them know how much I've appreciated their works, I've followed stories religiously, I've offered constructive criticism, and I've reviewed to my heart's content, giving praise where it is due. The creative originality out there still stuns me.

At the moment, I'm enjoying watching my young daughter grow up - I work, I read, I dabble in some writing of my own and I obsess over the things I love. My husband continuously begs me to upload more of my writing (currently, I'm working on an epic 200,000 word novella that is like my second child - literally, it's like a baby because it's taken my about two years to create) but haven't yet gained the courage to do so.

X-Men

As a kid, I thought I was the only girl who loved to read comics. It was weird, no other girl liked X-Men as much as I did. True story. Every Saturday morning, you'd find me on the couch watching X-Men (the original cartoon series) and with a comic book by my bed to read late into the night. Well, of course when they started adapting the comics into movie form, well...*insert heavy breathing*. It didn't help that I knew someone who worked on the first film (it was also shot only an hour away from my house) so I got a nifty souvenir. And the love affair with Hugh Jackman as Wolverine began. I know it's not a common shipper in the comics, I just felt these two complex characters fit together beautifully.

The Phantom of the Opera

I discovered the Broadway musical when I was only 9 years old in Toronto (I must be careful and not date myself here - all I'll say is that it was the 90's) and I instantly fell in love. I couldn't get enough; the tragic love story, the music, the hidden themes...God, I was stunned something like that existed. Not long after, I discovered Susan Kay's Phantom and of course, the iconic Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera. Although I thoroughly enjoy the musical, my heart lies with Leroux and Kay and their interpretation of the dark genius. As long as I live, there will never be a more profound or heart wrenching love story in my life. Obviously I'm mainly an E\C shipper, but I'm slowly opening my heart and imagination to other options. I finally got to see Love Never Dies (US Tour 2017) and it was everything my heart wanted and more. Pure bliss.

V for Vendetta

So, apparently I have a thing for guys in masks. Heh. I discovered the graphic novel in college and loved it. LOVED IT. The story was beautiful, despite the unconventional ending. I loved it so much to the point I named my daughter Evey. She is by far, one of my favorite characters in the fictional world.
