She reads it through a couple of times, just to make certain that she's not grasping at straws, that she's not seeing coded messages where there is, in reality, a painfully lonely person sitting in a dingy room desperate for someone to love them.

BETHYL/DETH Season 4 AU. Daryl brings some books home from a run, causing a subtle shift in his relationship with Beth. "He didn't think on Beth. Tried not to... She's broken, in her own way, which makes her being with Daryl make so much sense. She's broken in the ways that he isn't. She's the hope, and light where he is the darkness, and the strength that they both need. They are opposites yet the same. Completed. Keep an eye on my profile for the sequel.

Beth wanted change, of course. Maybe even a little adventure. But how she ever ended up headed toward the Mexico border with this jackass was beyond all logic. [AU - No zombies]

Daryl and Beth had to flee the prison in a hurry. Beth wants to find Maggie and Judith. Daryl tries to protect Beth by shielding her from walkers and keeping her at arm's length. Beth just wants Daryl to see her as the woman she has become. Daryl soon realizes that keeping Beth alive is easy. Keeping her out of his arms is a different story.

Finding Themselves means finding each other. Beth was never the strong one, but she has to pull herself out of the scared little girl and into the woman Daryl knew she was to find her family. Hope never came easy to him but Daryl's betting on it to take him back to her.

This takes place in a WD world where Terminus never happened. Beth escaped her captor, and is still on the run, alone with Daryl. I loved those few episodes where the two of them were alone together. So, I decided to keep it going a bit longer in fan-fiction form. I hope you like enjoy my little Bethyl fantasy.

He finds himself exaggerating his expressions, then glancing to Molly to see if she's noticed, his lips twisting into a smirk whenever he sees her biting her lip, her head slightly bowed, cheekbones accentuated as she tries to hide her giggles.

A series of short scenes that depict the growing relationship between Daryl and Beth, emphasizing their individual strengths and dynamic. When the Governor's insanity changes life in the prison, Beth proves she's not the same child from the farm.
