![]() Well...I don't have anything clever here to add yet. I'm a newbie to the whole fanfic world, still trying to figure out what all those funny terms are and all. I've started writing one for Supernatural, but I'm a perfectionist so it might never be finished. I wrote my first short story when I was 5 years old and my first unpublished novel when I was in high school. I’m a recovering role-playing geek (the pencil and paper kind) from back when few girls did that sort of thing and I used to play on and GM play-by-e-mail RPGs based on sci-fi, fantasy, and superhero comic book, movies, and t.v. shows – everything from Pern to X-Men to Firefly to Buffy to Star Wars to A-Team to X-Files/World of Darkness to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I love the dark, doomed, tortured, and angsty heroes best. What can I say? I love watching them (especially if there’s gratuitous violence and explosions), I love reading about them, I love writing and role-playing them – though I haven’t done the later in over half a decade. :P It’s kind of why Jared Padalecki always cracks me up in interviews when he says he wants to see the series end with Sam going completely evil and it all coming down to a fight between Dean and Sam; then all the fans get upset and he laughs. Sam is exactly the kind of character I always liked to play in games and the GMs would let me but I always started mine out kind of where he was in the middle of season 4 – not quite pushed over the edge, but stil willing to shoot one of my own team in the shoulder to get him or her out of the way so I could get a better shot at the real target. :P I guess these days I'm 97% Supernatural and 3% Justified, In Plain Sight, Human Target, Burn Notice, Doctor Who, Leverage, White Collar, Firefly... I've started a Supernatural fic rec list on delicious: I've posted my list of "Everything I Need to Know I Learned From Supernatural". |
