In 2008 the 13 years old Max suddenly starts having intense visions, showing her what will happen to Chloe if she leaves for Seattle. Now she's faced with a huge decision: Give in to her fate and leave, or stay and take care of her best friend.

Christmas Eve at the Caulfield residence: a rough evening for both the girls, with an informal wake in Arcadia Bay serving as a difficult reminder of the October storm.
