Once upon a time, there was an active FanFiction writer named Humphrey Loves Kate, or HLK for short. HLK was a writer loved by many it seemed, and for good reasons. His stories were high quality. He figured out what his audience would most want and gave them that while showing them his own views and opinions at the same time. He updated regularly, daily even, for awhile. In fact, that was what made him popular. He produced high quality stories that people wanted to read and updated active stories daily.

But as the time went by, 4 years, 6 months, 1 week, and 6 days to be exact, HLK changed, slowly losing interest in Alpha and Omega, the FanFiction category he wrote for exclusively. There was not one point or instance that directly caused the shift, but rather, it was a series of unfortunate events. Some people might say life got in the way, but HLK believes if you want something bad enough, you will find the time among all your other activities to make it happen. With this philosophy in mind, HLK believes contributing factors included, but were not limited to, a shift in the readers who came to the archive, the Alpha and Omega movie shifting into a franchise with different creative workers producing it, a decline in overall reader traffic, and some of his readers just "growing up" and moving on to their next FanFiction obsession, if any.

And here you, you potential reader who has come here by Google search, various clicks throughout the FanFiction archive, or perhaps from HLK's final post explaining his discontinuation of story production, will find what remains of HLK's FanFiction career. These aren't just stories. They're legacies. They've saved and changed lives. They were planned, designed, and written out with the intent of making an impact on any and all who might be willing to invest just a little of their time to read one, just a small fraction of the time HLK had to invest in their production. Some will come close to wrenching that fragile heart of yours out, others may fill you with rage, and maybe even one you'll finish with a smile, a sense of satisfaction at witnessing a work of art.
