Update: 10th April 2016

Status: Not dead, just not writing - or reading on FF.net at all.

I can't believe it has been almost 6 years since I last published something. I'm more astonished at the fact that my stories are still being read. I expected them to quietly fade away. I must confess, I've pondered resuming writing during the gap in between. I had a vague recollection somewhere in the corner of my head that I had an FF.net account and that I'd left something incomplete.

So what happened? Erm...life? The last chapter of Destiny bond was uploaded before I even went to university and things have changed a little too much. Or maybe too little. Anyhow, I lost interest in the Pokemon anime and also my story (still like other anime though). I recall being conflicted about the direction I was going to take Destiny Bond to and ended up just not continuing it.

Hmm, so why am I writing this update all of a sudden? In short, I was visiting my younger sister and we were idly scrolling through things on netflix. We came across Pokemon XY and decided to watch it for nostalgia's sake (hehe, it is pretty good). The FF.net profile I'd ignored came out of hiding from the recesses of my mind.

What now? Well, I've forgotten most of the details about my own story. Not good. I've lost all the notes to a hard drive failure. Oops. I'm hesitant to put the "Completed" tag and call it abandoned, but I'm too busy right now to write anything decent. I'd have to reread my whole work twice and bang my head against the wall to try and recollect where I wanted to go with it. There's also the fact that I'd have to force myself to incorporate new things in a franchise I've not followed for six years. The last Pokemon game I played was Diamond. To add to all that, Destiny Bond was planned to be a trilogy. The final part being called DBIII - Roar of Time. Heh, you can guess the star Pokemon of that story.

So let's do this: Destiny Bond is in a dual state of being abandoned and not-abandoned. It may or may not be continued. I don't know and do not wish to poison the cat by opening the box. However if YOU wish to keep writing it, feel free. I am curious to know other people's take on it. After all, I don't own most of the characters - Nintendo does.

If I DO get back to writing, there are things I want to explore other than Pokemon. I have taken a great liking to "rational fics", a trend started by HPMOR - the only fic I've read on this site in the past five years. I like to think that my attempt in Destiny Bond was a proto version of that concept, just not very elegant. So in other words, even if I do publish a new chapter, it may be a new story in another franchise with Destiny Bond still incomplete.

With all that said, let's see what the future holds.
